Yeah...I never been there, but its my dream to go.
Everyone whom I know that went there, just love it!!!
Try to learn a little of french before you go...they don't like too much people that speaks english, but they become very friendly, when see someone, from another language trying their language, even if you speak all wrong, don't worry, they like much more than you go straight to english.
They are very nice people too.
Au revoir!

OK first of all how can some of these people say yes or no if they've never been there? I used to live in southern Belgium, Namur to be exact where we speak french. I spent a lot of time traveling all across Europe and Northern Africa. France is nice but it all depends where you go. I found the major tourist attractions in Paris cool but the city wasn't so hospitable and some what dirty, the weather wasn't always so great either....not what I would consider so romantic as you always hear. The south of France is awesome! The castles get better and better through the Loire valley and the Lot region. The weather is nice and warm. The Cote d'Azure is top shelf! Nice and Monnaco are really nice too, very hospitable but very expensive. If you go, try to eat in little cafe's or bistro outside the cities...the local foods are so great. Try to learn a little french too.

Yes, France is worth visiting, but I have to agree with the person from Belgium.
Paris is an awesome city. As a tourist destination, it has some interesting sites to see, but I wouldn't plan on spending a whole lot of time there as a tourist. The countryside of France is really the reason to go.
I love France, but be prepared to be treated rudely. The people are actually very nice, but they don't come across that way, especially to Americans.
By the way, escargot is buttery and garlicky, but the snails themselves are sort of tough and basically tasteless.

Yes, France is a beautiful country especially near Lille.
There are beautiful spots in Paris like The Montmartre, The Sainte Chapelle and The Cathedral de Notre Dame De Paris.

In my opinion yes. Of course there is the beauty, the culture, the art, the food. It can be especially rewarding if you are a history buff - there were lots of things going on in France over the course of history from the times of the Roman occupation (for which you can see may vestiges of roads and buildings) and especially during the late middle ages through the 18th century. Also, if you choose to spend a couple of days in Paris, you can sit in the exact same cafes that Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beavoir, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Camus, and Pablo Picasso sat and drank in, such as the Cafe de Flore. (Not that it's particularly spectacular but I figure if "Ernie" got drunk there, so can I.)

You should definately go if you're coming to europe, but don't come to europe just to go to France. I was done with Paris after 2 days. Keep in mind that people in France will not help you with anything, they will say they don't speak english even if they do, and the food is disgusting (except the bread and the dessert!) The eifel tower and the louvre are must-sees if you are in Paris. I would suggest you go to Normandy also. But see a little more of Europe if you're going to make that long trip, don't just limit yourself to France

France is an amazing place...especially Paris. The food, the shopping, the people, are all top notch. And the museums - don' t get me started. I LOVE the Louvre ... but don't miss the Musee D'Orsay. It is a great museum for sculpture and paintings. Notre Dame and Sacre-Coeur are gorgeous churches that must be seen to be appreciated. The Eiffel tower is a world landmark and the catacombs are interesting (and more than a little creepy)!

I think so. I've never gone there either...but I have found out a lot about France from the Travel Channel and other sources. I love the chateaus & castles of the Loire River Valley...and, of course, there are the great works of art you can find in Paris. I heard that it's cheaper to stay at one of the chateaus outside of Paris, than to stay in the city...plus you get to experience the French countryside at your leisure.
