Boston Terriers and Bulldogs are both born with short tails. (It is unacceptable to cut them at all, as a matter of fact.) Someone mentioned pugs, as well. There are probably more, but at 3:30 AM, they escape me. *heh*

maximum dogs are born with lengthy tails. they're clipped for most motives. it all started out with a particular reason and then grew to change into breed wide-spread, so as that they save doing it. rottweilers were used as cart dogs (as in pulling carts) they docked their tails so as that they does no longer get stuck in the cart. now it really is only a breed wide-spread. australian shepherds get their tails docked to keep away from it from both getting stuck on something at the same time as herding... stuff like that.

Actually, no dogs are born with a short tail because when they are born, the owner cuts off their tail, so then when they ever grow up to be a guard dog, no criminal can grab their tail and escape with the robbery.
