My mom murdered my father in front of my siblings and me when I was 10, and i remember it, and have a negative love for her. But when people ask, should i tell them the truth? Would that freak them out and turn them away from me? Please be serious.

I am sorry that it happened in front of yuor eyes.
Well you have to find out why your father was murdered.
It might have been in a fit of anger or may be an accident that she did not intend to kill him but just threaten him.
Circumstantial evidence will be required for you to gather for her
Cos just for her actions having a negative love is not enough. If you think what she done was a mistake you can forgive her.
I know it is going to be dificult.
About telling people it depends as to when the topic of yuor mom comes up.
Are they your friends ?
Are they the people you know ?
Yes it would freak out some people if you tell them. But if you want true friends than the ones who stick to you are teh true friends even knowing that you have a murderer mom.
Telling the truth will not do any harm to you. But you will know who are there for you and who are not.
But dont let it make impact on your life.
Cos they turning away from you means they were never meant to be with you.

I think that maybe your MOM killed your dad and that's the worst thing in the world but she was obviously out of her mind and in a dark place in her mind at the time. Jeffery Dhomer is a murderer - that sadistically calculated killing people. Your mom is someone who got caught up in a bad place in her mind. Tell people that she made a horrible misake in her life and took her husbands life but don't call her a murderer. That's so cold. I'm sure that her expectations for her life was not to kill someone by the time she was thirty but probably more like - have a euphoric marriage, beautiful children and a sweet home. She got in a bad place and didn't know how to cope. I'm so sorry for you and hope that despite these things you've been able to see hope.
If someone is your friend then they want freak on you, but if your a teen then I wouldn't just go out broadcasting what happened because kids are so cruel and really like to ostricize others. Good luck! Stay strong!

Emank has it right and deserves the ten points. I have some cousins who went through the same thing, only their father shot their mother. They decide who to tell however, when they do tell........the people either, understand, think that they are asking for pity, become uncomfortable and treat them differently.
They choice closely who they want to tell after they are sure that the people are going to be in their lives for awhile and that they need to know.

Your mom is the one who is responsible for the wrong that was done... not you. Just because she did it, it does not make you like your mom. She's the one who chose to do it. We don't always choose to follow in the footsteps of our parents. If you decide to tell people about her, just make sure to add that>>> you're not your mom. My mother got after us with either a knife, scissors, a broom, a coathanger, fists or whatever was handy, but it doesn't make me... my mother. It's all a matter of choice.

My Children's Father is in Prison for molesting my daughter....my kids are 7 & 8.....when ever someone asks them where their Father is....my son tells them he is in Canada working....My Daughter tells them he is in Heaven....I have never told my kids what to say to anyone...I told them that if they wanted people to know he is in jail it is ok to say this.....but you dont have to tell them why...if they ask....tell them....wrong choices......
It is up to you about what & when you want to tell someone where your Mother is....but if it would make you feel more comfortable....you can always say she works for some kind of agency that is top secret or something.....It is your business....not everyone elses.....God Bless....& Good Luck...

You dont need to if you dont want to , there are some people who might get a little wierded out. But you dont have to hide it if you dont want to either. No I wouldn't tell them. I would say she lives out of town. If they asked what does she do for a living I would tell them she works for the state and leave it at that.

I'm not sure what i would tell people , i dont think I'd have many people asking about her anyway. you could just say you lost alot of respect for your mom when you were younger , and you dont talk anymore . and leave it at that , nobodys buisness .

I think it isn't necessary to tell them the truth since they can't understand why your mother do that .They might have a bad opinion about you.
