From your screen name, I'd guess you have a Beagle. Kong toys are always a favorite, especially if you put a treat or some peanut butter in the open end. Since Beagles like to track things, you could get a scented toy and drag it around inside or out in the yard and hide it. When you first start, use small food markers to help make a trail, and put a treat into the toy, or leave a chewy type goodie as a reward. You can start the game with the suggestion to "find it". This can have great benefits if "find it" is used with other things, too. My Golden Retriever understands "find your dish," "find shoe," and "find toy".

I"m glad you asked. It's called a Kong, and it's virtually indestructible. When thrown, it bounces erratically, like a real animal would! My dogs each have a Kong, and would not be parted from them.
