That's a tough one.
If someone has intense bad breath all the time, it could be a health problem like chronic halitosis:

I knew a person who had this & it got so bad all her teeth on top had to be pulled & she now has dentures.
Encourage your friend to go to the dentist for a checkup. Maybe ask her if she can recommend one & ask her when was the last time she went. Maybe you can book appointments together.
It could also be from her diet.
Some supplements & Chinese herbs emit bad breath.

that hurts when a guy tells her girl that she has a bad breath..why don't you try asking for the help of her parents maybe you can tell them your problem about their child and then ask for their help to on how you would tell her about her problem or either you ask them if they could be the one to tell her about that thing..

if your girl had bad breath that means she had a problem of teeth. i think it is a problem of piriya(teeth disease). in this disease your breath smell like dad rat and teeth become going weak so my advise to you that get soon your girl to teeth Doctor.

Don't tell her anything. She goes mad. Buy lots of chewing gums and always offer her when you see her. If she is smart she will soon understand and does something about it.
