The only thing that's been able to help me after numerous drugs is an injectable drug called Enbrel. It actually eased the pain of RA. I have psoriatic arthritis which is a drop different because mine comes with a lovely rash. :-( But since they are in the same family, I suggest you asking your rheumatologist. The one major side effect of the drug is that it hurts you r immune system and you are very susceptible to every illness out there..viruses, the flu. The other thing I receive is cortisone injections in my knees. My knees were particularly bad, and the cortisone made me feel like a new woman. There are risks for that as well. Please talk with the doctor. There's no reason why you should live in pain.

P.S. All of the anti-inflammatory drugs they'll try to give you for the pain won't work well, and will tear up your stomach.

There are controversies regarding this issue. Some doctors say there is no cure, others -there is.Since we're talking about an autoimmune disorder I think it's rather onest to say we have no cure, but we can improve your life.If NSAIDs don't work on you, you should try corthicoid therapy. Here we use something else called Renicade(Infliximab) with pretty good results. This is said to decrease disease progression with radiologic proof,But ,I wouldn't go that far.Another currently used drug is Arava(Leflunomid) with good results, too.But you should check a rheumatologist first!

Rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed by a doctor who will plan a program of care with you...have you actually been diagnosed? Rheumatoid arthritis is not solved..it is managed. Good luck.

what is your problem specifically?
learning about the disease yourself via internet or library and working with a doctor to manage it and learning by experience what works for you are all helpful. Your attitude is a huge factor, so I'd change my ID name if I were you.
