Drinking water thoughout the day is more beneficial. To help jump start your metabolism in the morning, get up and eat a meal w/ in the first 30 min. of waking or do cardio...doing cardio w/ burn the fat you already have and not the calories you have been eating throughout the day. As for water consumption, again, drink all day long, this will keep your metabolism going.

why distilled water?
and no, it doesn't make a difference whether you drink it during the day or before bedtime, unless you like to get up in the middle of the night to go wee.

Yes from all the exercise you get from jumping up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom...or change the sheets...
