Without stating the obvious, they are looking to find out why you think you would be a worthy recipient of their funding.

Scholarship organizations aim to give their money to students who are grateful, high-acheivers, not those who feel "entitled" to college funding or who plan to goof off during their college years.

If you feel that you fit this criteria, let the donor know of your educational and/or career goals. If the scholarship is based (even partly) on financial need, let them know that their award can bring you one step closer to acheiving these goals. If it is based on merit (in part or in full) let them know that, if they offer you this award, you will not let them down -- and then remain true to your word.

Finally, I assume you mean scholarship wIth a "p"? Make sure you check your spelling before you submit your application: calling it a "scholarshit," even by mistake, is a surefire way to eliminate yourself as a candidate.

What they are looking for is most likely how the money they will be providing will help you, whether it be allowing extra study time without having to work, or allowing you to take an extra course, etc.

Or you could be a smart@$$ and by your spelling, say "It's better than being a dumb%@$#"!
