Why would we have been created, just to be judged and sent to hell if we don't repent for whatever it is we did. I never asked to be born, I never asked to be human even. Had I never been born, I wouldn't have to ever worry about anything of the sort, because I wouldn't exist. So just because I exist I have to repent for something? It seems like a really stupid concept to me and extremely unfair and cruel. You wouldn't get a cat and tell it, if you do anything wrong, I'm sending you to a room full of dogs with rabbies. That cat never asked to be there and yet it would be judged just the same way.

If you can extract my question out of that, that'd be great because I'm not sure how else I can ask the question.

(Please no preaching, no bible quotes, no jesus quotes, I want real logical answers about it)

Because we weren't "created"... we evolved. We're STILL constantly evolving to this day. Religion, as well as the Bible, were created by man as a means to control society. Read the bible, and you'll notice all "sins" were punished by death back then. Yes, including lying, stealing, adultery, or taking the lord's name in vain.

The only reason why any of us tend to believe in this ridiculous concept, is because of one book. Well, people should try actually reading it, and see how crazy it sounds.

I think you pretty much said it! To quote Karl Marx..."Religion is an opiate of the masses....Religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions.
Karl Marx, Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right" I don't usually quote Marx, but he made a good point. It's a drug. People use it to explain their lives away and blame something/someone for what they don't like or refuse to work for. I thing religion is a cruel joke to teach a child. I agree with you and struggle everyday to understand how regular normal people can so blindly put thier lives in the hands of a ghost, teach their children that their life's wishes will be answered if they are good and believe that evil is the result of some man in a halloween costume. I know this isn't an answer, but all of us that think as you do sk the same question...why are there so many idiots who accept what ever they are told!

Maybe your question could be, "Why is God cruel?" I think it's because some people are cruel by nature, obsessed with power and dominating through fear and so a God that would do these things makes perfect sense to them. Back in the old days when hellfire preaching was in its hayday people were especially cruel this way. Look at the dark ages, the middle ages, the witch trails. Things seem to be getting better and now people are all like, oh no, God is love. Well its all what you make of it.

We weren't born to go to hell. The God of Abraham, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, says we must repent and do as his prophets say or we will go to hell. I cannot accept that we are here just to feed a horrible God's lust for torture.

Being a free-thinker, a Deist to be more exact, I see God reflected in nature. As everything in nature seems to be evolving, I conclude that God is evolving too. As an evolving God, God is not omnipotent. God is stuck with working with what he has with the limited abilities to affect what he has.

We need to experience pain, or we would have become extinct like the neanderthal man. I look at pain as God's way of showing us he loves us. It helps with the pain of life a little.

Buddhists teach that we are reincarnated until such time that we can stop the cycle of life. That idea makes more sense to me then a vengeful God out to see how many he can torture through eternity. The point being, is that there are other religions besides Christianity. You might want to check some of them out, and then decide what works for you.

There is no need to follow a spirituality based on fear. God is much better than many fundamentalists portray. If you are willing to think outside of the box you will find many spiritual variations that are more functional when it comes to after life scenarios. I personally recommend not believing wholly in any one religion but taking the best from each. I understand the temptation to embrace one particular path as it dispels a lot of existential angst. I suggest you suffer through the tough questions till you find the answers that sit right with your spiritual heart. Have faith, solace with come.

If you havent figured it out yet, Chistianity is a form of control, complete hypocrytical control of the masses. they can beleive that a book that has no author is absolutely factual, that there is one guy (the pope) who has the "bat line" directly to god. religion should be about enlightenment, but the priesthood has claimed that for themselves, and stand in judgement in others. there is not much that they agree on. Now the Catholic church (I dont care what anyone says, youre an off shoot from them) has decided that "even if youre not christian, if you were good, you get to go to heaven"! seriously... they're making this **** up as they go! Accept christ or die! It wasnt good enough for the jews, and christians have been pissed ever since!

Well the way that you word your question you "seem" logically correct however, not all of life is logical, there are so many things that cannot be explained away, miracles if you will, sometimes when all logic goes out the window is when you can find what life is really about, its not about following rules or stringint guidlines. The way that you make God sound, well honey if he was truly like that i wouldn't want to follow him either! The fact of the matter is though is that he (God) is NOT like that at all. You are essentially asking "THE" question, everyone I know asked it including me, my conclusion (well I have several lol) 1)God is love period, he wanted someone to love him NOT because he made them or because we MUST but of free will, its like if you have a gf you can't tell her that she HAS to love you can you? It wouldnt feel the same, its like getting respect for your name not because you have earned it, it feels better when you earn it. Well God was lonely, he wanted to be loved, by choice not by obligation. 2)You cant fit God nor his ways of doing things into a little box 3)There are so many unexplainable things in this life, we will NEVER know all of the answers, but it sure is fun trying lol. That is what makes things so exciting sometimes. 4)Sometimes you just have to admitt (this was incredibly hard for me lol) that you just don't know absolutly everything that there is to know (GASP!!). 5)life is incredibly short, God wants you to have fun, laugh, and live life to its fullest 6)God is not sitting up on this huge thrown somewhere just waiting to send people to hell, nor is he in waiting to judge us and condemn us all the time. He can show you the BEST way to get the most out of the life that you have. The reason that people have to go to hell is not because God wants them to, he hurts for people he wants them to go to heaven, to enjoy all of its wonderful things, but because he is so powerful he cannot be in the presence of sin so we would just burn up if we were around him (you dont want preaching or anything like that so I cannot elaborate any further on this point). Case in point if you look at God like he hates you then no one can change your mind to that, but I can promise you that he doesnt hate you and that he is not waiting to send you to hell, he wants to show you what TRUE UNCONDITIONAL love is, and besides what is so wrong with having to say im sorry? Why is that so hard, you dont have to cut your arms off, grovel at anybodys feet, say five hundred hail mary's to be repentant, all you have to do is say "Im sorry" and mean it. Is that really so bad?

Ok, no preaching. The answer is really simple you're right it would be very cruel of God to punish us in a hell fire. Hell is not a place of firey torment. The literal diffintion for what in most bibles is translated as hell is hades or sheol which means the grave. I do have one scripture for you though to back my point, Romans 6:23 "the wages sin pays is death", death not eternal torment. I hope that answers that question following most of your conditions.

We`re born because that is what God wills. You repent because with out rules there would be antarchism.Theres right and theres wrong and all the grey areas in between.God loves us and we don`t have to worry about hell ,if we strife to do right as we interpet it.Our conscience is what makes us human. As we strive to do right we sometimes fall short. And because we want to do good we repent for our short comings.

I feel that earth is a place and humans dominate the world. If God had not put humans on the earth because he made the choice too, he did not have anybody to ask, who would dominate the world? Also, how can you be asked a question if you do not exist?

to answer your question: We weren't created to be judged, we are judged because we sin and we sin because we are human. You do not go to hell because you do not repent for your sins you go to hell because you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the true son of God and that he came to earth to die on the cross and save you from the judgement that you would have to endure if he had not done this.
It's all about the Grace of God it is very simple. You accept him and you go to heaven.
