I asked this same question and the answers were hilarious. You are dealing with an irrational brainwashed mass of idiots. The bible was stolen from Pagans, Romans, Greeks, all kinds of people. And, used to cause more death and destruction than all wars combined (heck, most wars were caused by christians)

Oh get a life people Christians reads history books as well as other books besides the bible. The only thing is that they have enough faith in God not to be persuaded by every wind and doctrine that they happen to read. Just because you can't get them to come to your point of veiw you bad mouth them. For years people have been trying to discredit the bible which is God's word; and satan still has his little imps trying to cast doubt. God's word is to strong and powerful to be moved no matter how hard you try His word always bounce back and stand it's ground. Haven't you heard that the road to hell is broad it has many travelers, some walking hand in hand. God's word never persecute the innocent but it does condemned the quilty. So quite bad mouthing christians if you don't really want to live right that's up to you history books are just this hi-story books written too by men. I wonder how much money some of them received for writing them. I have read some and none of them speaks of love and peace like the word of God does.
Religion is something that everyone has to some form of degree.
But Salvation is what one must possess to make it in the kingdom of God.

you know what you are absolutly correct on most of that remember there are different sects of christianity and also catholics are just as bad since they can go to church every sunday confess be forgiven do it again go to church sunday and do it again it is the catholic church that helps run goverment look at what they did when trying to convert people they tortured them for not having the same beliefs they are pretty bad to as far the pagan thins absolutly right the two added stuff to the holidays so that the holidays didnt seem pagan when actually do the resaerch candles on a birthday cake started with a celtic worship of a goddess mothers day started when a women gave out roses to mothers in celebration of the death of a mother christmas well lets see this one is good here it is santa clause= satans claw easter the egg is the symbol of a fertility goddess and the rabbit she used as her symbol of fertility because they are the most fertil creature also with christmas umm well jesus was NOT born in the winter hellooo common sense people the bible does not state the date that Jesus was born.
well enough is enough there will always be someone out there to critisize religion and the bible what it all comes down to is that you have to do the research and find within yourself what you believe in your heart mind and soul to be correct only you can do that noone can tell you which way is the right direction why because god gives us the choice to do whats wrong or right and as an individual we cannot in anyway when its ou turn to face our maker and answer for our sins point at someone else and say its his/her fault because of free will a god given gift our choice is our choice. Good luck in your search for what is right and wrong if you havent already found the right path for you and good luck on staying on that path for it is a hard thing to do sometimes in life because satan throws a lot temptations our way that we must resist at all costs.

I can't speak for ALL Christians but I have done some homework on it....there was one passage in the bible that stuck in my mind........"each person shall work out his own walk with the GOD".
To my amazement I found that we celebrate several pagan rituals. The first is the celebration of birthdays.....hebrews celebrated the day of death and the accomplishments of the person. We celebrate birthdays........also the birthday of our Christ......which is an oxymoron.
The other ways are Easter. While it is suppose to be a celebration of the resurection I have never been to a christian home that didn't have the easter bunny as the star of the holiday............same with Christmas.........Santa is the star! When I raised my daughter to worship GOD instead of Jesus and to have a birthday party for Jesus, ( I know but there is only so far you can go against tradition....small steps) instead of waiting for presents from Santa......my family of Christians opposed me and gave her presents anyway. Same thing happened when I woke her up early on Easter morning and took her outside to watch the Sun (son) rise. Telling her how it was like Jesus......When we went to church.........there was the Easter bunny.
The "Holy Bible" was actually abbreviated and translated by the Roman Emperor. Thus the name Roman Catholic.....Books that were found offensive by the roman rules were left out. Verses that were not in keeping with current roman laws were changed. The rule of the day was that Rome allowed different religions as long as they did not cause conflict with the other citizens. So with that knowledge our "Holy Bible" is not as complete as we are taught to believe.
Rather than getting all defensive about people that question our traditions and religion...........shouldn't we as christians welcome their questions and be able to answer them intelligently.
Quoting the bible to a non believer is like someone quoting the other religions to prove their beliefs. When we talk to non believers we need to talk to them about things they have read, experienced, felt or witnessed. Arrogance will not bring these people to the spiritual awareness that Jesus taught.

Religion, my dear friend, is man-made... or didn't you know that?
Christianity is not a "religion". With religion, you have man-made rules, rituals, laws, ceremonies, etc. Some of the greatest atrocities were done in the "name" of Christianity, but were in fact one man's, (or one church's), hunger for power and domination. I'll bet you even think that Catholicism is Christianity? If so, I can see why you think as you do! It is one of the biggest pagan religions around! True Christians don't have a religion. Their inspiration comes from the Word of God, not man! A true Christian seeks to be as Jesus was, (and is!).
So... how much history have you studied?
(Sounds like you've already made up your mind regardless?!)

its not against gods will to question him. and most christians don't believe the bible is a literal translation of whatJesus said, since we all know Paul and his followers wrote and changed most of it. Every religious group has persecuted people. that's just how humanity is. its the 'with me or against me ' policy. But, you have to admit, the nazis and thecommunists have killed more people than everyone else in recorded history, and those two groups didn't particularly like christians.

You know, I've been trying all night to get people to see that. It's not working. They are too blind. The fit the bill of "blind sheep" perfectly. Oh, and another reason they don't read history books is because it's against their god's will to question him. And if they were to read up on some of this stuff, they would be. Oh, and I also think they would say it's not history, it's the work of the devil.

There are christians that don't live by the bible word for word. I, myself, just try to lead a positive and moral life. Our God is also a forgiving one. I figure if I mess up somewhere down the road he will forgive me as long as I have led a clean life.

Someone much smarter than I, once said "If god did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him" Which is pretty much what has happened, so it doesn't pay to ask too many question, or act as though you might have doubts, by reading history books! Too much logic,or too much common sense, are things that, if applied to religion, would cause a major meltdown!! If they choose to be blind, that is their right, and if they choose to be pushy and aggressive, I consider them fair game for assults of logic and common sense!

I CAN NOT SEE THAT RELIGION HAS ANY THING TO DO WITH THE BIBLE AND THE HISTORY IT HAS IN IT. THEY BELIEVE IT IS WRONG, SO HOW COULD ANY OF IT BE RIGHT. I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BIBLE. ALL THE SIN IS THERE JUST AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. IT TAKES TIME AS BELOW TO GET RID OF IT.
Rev,20:1-6; The 1000 year reign of Jesus begans with Satan being confimed to have no power. This is near to 6130 years after Eden, so that Jesus has all made perfect 7130 years after Eden, Matt.24:3,7,14,15,22,36-28; Only God knows the day and hour.
It has been time, and the rest of time is coming.
