So I'm interested in a guy. He's told me that I'm one of the very few people he can really talk to about issues. We've talked online and on the phone for hours at a time. I asked him to go to the movies last week and he gladly went even though he had a soccer game that day and he got rear-ended. He still didn't cancel despite everything. My best friend's boyfriend is a co-worker of his and has told me that he's tried to get this guy to admit that he likes me.
After I found this out, I noticed that the guy I'm interested in hasn't called or texted much, neither has he talked to me much online. So what's his deal? Why did he go from talkative and interested to nothing at all?

So if he does just want to be friends how do I speak with him again? I'm afraid to talk to him now because he might think that my intentions are only to date him but he's a great guy who I'd love to be friends with as well.

It sounds as if this guy is in love with you but value your friendship more than he values a possible relationship or rather the failure of a relationship. He is scared that he will loose you as a friend if he put pressure on you to be more than a friend. He sends out mixed messages because he don't get the desired responses from you. You hold the key to resolve this. You must decide "Are you in love with him or not?" You must remember that friendship can be forever but you must not complicate it with a relationship that can turn bad. A bad relationship will end the relationship and the friendship. If you are in love with him, let him know. If he ask again why you haven't got a boyfriend, tell him that he have not asked you to be his girlfriend as yet. If you only want him as a friend, also tell him. I however see from the above question that you are in love and waiting for him to go the extra step. He is scared to take the step, so you must give a helping hand to make him take the step. Next time you take his hand, you smile at him first, just some encouragement for him to see that you are also interested.

look, a guy tells u that he talk about his issue to u doesnt means he likes u, maybe in his heart u are his BUDDY only.
after he know u like him differ the way he likes u (buddy) he back off. simple.
I turn down girl too because i never though she be more than my friend. at that month i didnt talk to her because i dont want to make her think something else, until she found another bf i start talk to her again.
thats my experience, i dont know ur guy, he might be differnt

When a guy is in the early stages of a relationship with a girl we don't like to talk about liking her even if we do. This guy obviously likes you but he probably felt weird when he was put on the spot like that.

Maybe he just wanted you as a friend and then got scared off when he found out you wanted more than he was willing to give. Now he just feels arkward with you.
