Pain..........severe pain............with it's codeine base it is highly addictive. I was taught that if you need it to treat pain then it is non addictive....I personally think this is a load of crap!!! Codeine is addictive no matter why you take it and like any other drug your body builds a tolerance to it. So you need more to achieve the same pain relief.

Vicodine is the medicine of the 2000's. It is an opiate base drug and is addictive. I broke my back 5 years ago and cannot get out of bed without my meds. It blocks the signals from the brain so you do not know you are in as much pain. It also can cause mind altering effects. Anger, vision problems, etc. it depends on the person and their reaction. I found it the only drug that helps with back fusion. I will not take pure morphine. You have to watch your liver count. and drink alot of water. No drinking. Will Cause Serious Liver Damage.

Vicodin is a mixture of pain relief. Its most likely 750/7.5 mg which is 750 mg of non narcotic analgesic (acetaminophen or Tylenol) and 7.5 mg of narcotic pain reliever (hydrocodone) its a opioid agonist. It binds at opiate receptor sites in the central nervous system. So if a person is in real pain it works like its supposed to. If person takes this med for recreational use it makes them "high".

I'm one of the lucky ones who get a buzz from it. I can only take half of one lol. But codine doesn't work for me. Everyones different. You can tell your doctor and usually they will try something else.
And my boyfriend swears there is a big difference between vicodin a nd generic vicodin.

Vicodin is a narcotic and works well for pain - esp. dental. I've taken it before (once, like you, for wisdom teeth removal), and it worked well. It is addictive, although it just didn't "appeal" to me overall.

When I had my teeth pulled, i had vicodin, and it did not do much for me, so i had a bunch of shots also. when i did not have any problems and i took vicodin it had more effect on me, especially when i mixed it with reefer. vicodin is some wickedly addictive stuff to some people.

If it worked, then it served its purpose. It is obviously a pain reliever - and just think ... if you are not in pain, then you'll get a buzz (feeling no pain)..but it would be stupid to risk habituation/addiction by taking it if NOT necessary. General populace is unfortunately "stupid" in terms of risks/consequences...general mentality of "can't happen to me" usually dooms a person with addictive tendencies.

If it is classified by the FDC as candy, you can buy it from the supermarket. Codin is an addictive chemical and not an aspirin!
