or is that a fair price to pay (live in the San Francisco Bay Area)

No, I have found anything less than $50.00 in Los Angeles could mean a disaster. But more than $75.00 is a lot. Color and highlights plus a cut should be around $150.

I pay 35 including tip for a wet cut, layered and styled! But I live in Michigan so that might make a difference! Oh and highlights run me about 65 including the cut and style!

For a shampoo, colour, haircut, intricate style, and guarantee that it will not go bad in the next 10 days, than no $65 is not too much to pay!
For JUST a haircut, that is highway robbery!!!

Are you getting served a glass of wine with it? Or some sort of aperitif? this much should include a shampoo with a scalp massage and a good finishing rinse. Hair should be blown off the neck after the cut. And it should not be rushed through.

I paid $50 for my last hair-cut. I can do a better cut myself, and save the money. It depends on the length of your hair, and the style you are receiving. Sounds a little pricey.

My worry is that they don't use sharp scissors, and just chew my hair off. eek. It is Platinum by nature, and just likes a sharp blade.

I'd shop around, however if you get a killer hair-cut you are happy with, then, price is not what counts.

I used to like around there. they're charging so much just because of the location. Yes, that is WAY too much. You can get a great haircut that looks just as good at a Supercuts.

In SF Bay, that would probably be reasonable. I live 2 hours to the East of you (near Stockton) and its around $50 if you go to a salon. (which is why I do great clips...$13...or if you're donating to locks of love, free)

I usually pay about $85.00 for a haircut, dye, highlights, blow dry and eyebrow waxing which is not bad. Then I will give the hairdresser about a $5.00 dollar tip.

That's alot of money to pay for a hair cut unless you are going to a very upscale salon in a upscale area.
