I wish that it were true that it is easier to love and be kind. Most people don't find that to be so. We live in a society that believes in taking care of Number One. It is sometimes easier to hate than to love because hating takes no responsibility. Love, however, does. If you hate someone you don't bother learning anything about them or what their lives are like. You, not you personally of course, I am referring to the "collective you." When we love we become responsible to learn and to act. Hatred takes less effort. Love means giving of self. Many people do not want to make the effort. Sorry to say. Very good question.

Because it is not easier... It is easier to steal than to give and it takes a developed conciseness to do what is right, not what is easy.
It also depends on what you believe in - if you think the World sucks than you will see the evidence all around... but once you genuinely switch you will see a different reality. Be a stand for what is right and stand up to what is wrong. Be the change you want to see.

Some people hate anything that is different than them. All the wars are because some group is trying to force their way of life on someone else. Some people can not see how someone with a different view, or lifestyle can be right.

People are selfish, upto some extent that is necessary to live in this world,
but one should know where to draw the boundary, Religion and Phylosophy can help us to find out how much selfishness we should possess. This is true for an individual, a society or a nation.

Because most people are simply a product of the environment they live in. Most people go with the flow and in a Capitalistic society that means trampling on everyone else to get ahead. There are very few people who go against the flow.

Because through the years people have just gotten jaded and given up. People are so rude now days and they just don't care. People figure why love them when they don't love me?
Fortunately, I'm not like that. i still am polite and nice to people, even though sometimes I feel like giving up and all hope is lost.

Unfortunately, it has to do with their nurturing while they grew up, and/or have experienced a lot of heartache and disappointment in life and therefore are not so easily convinced of the love and kindness that exists.

It is easier to hate for BS reasons, it is a defense to hide their jealousies, resentment, and inferior character.
They will say they hate you because of ........ some BS, but really they are the inadequate ones, check it out.
