I bet the way it went was more like this: Caveman hasn't been able to find any food for a whole week. He finds an oyster, cooks it and eats it. hmm. that wasn't so bad. Have you ever been hungry enough to fantasize about eating something that you would never eat if you had something else. Well, I have, and you should try it too. People these days don't have a clue what it means to be REALLY hungry.
I don't care all that much for oysters, but I love fried clam strips. I know they look yucky before being cooked, but they taste so danged good.

have you read any of the old day cook books , omg , so gross , i read 1 once and they had a meal in there called cows head soup , where u accually cooked the cows head with veggies and it was like a stew. id like to know how on earth cakes were born and who thought up these all this great food we have today and did it start back then with all those sick dishes were being thought up and evolve into what we have today
