First of all I do not want athiest views.

Do actively homosexual people think they can become good christians?
When in the bible states that men that lie with men will not inherit the kingdom of God unless they cease doing what they are doing.

How can the Anglican Church have gay priests unless a gay priest is abstaining and repenting of his sins?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 9

What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men,
nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.

Below states to to become clean you must stop from doing such sins.

And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

for those who are upset, he copied and pasted the Bible, these are not his words. he is not being intolerant, or mean, or hateful, he is quoting scripture.

Don't worry. No Atheist Views. Just Agnostic Views. Where do you get off judging like you are god? Don't you realize that is far worse of a sin than anything you quoted? That is for god to decide. Your job is to accept all and be a good person. It sure does not look like it at my end. If there is a gay person next to you at church, or preaching a sermon, or anything. It is not your place to question or judge. If you are so into god, then follow his word completely. Or, if you personally have a problem with homosexuals admit it. Don't hide behind your religion. On top of that, you are judging a church SOLELY created so it's followers could divorce. Research your religion before you get all high and mighty.

As an agnostic I accept the fact I hate certain people. That is a personal flaw and I own that. I don't blame some all powerful being and claim he told me to hate them. You should consider doing the same. I hate them because they bug me personally. For example, I hate christians. It isn't my religion, it isn't cuz some book told me so. I am just a jerk and hate christians. If there is a Jesus or a God they would be ashamed of you and what you are saying here.

OH WAIT! Hold Up! We are jumping on a guy who wants to know how much poop the world produces and wants to mind meld with his goldfish. I think you have bigger problems than gay people my friend.

I live in San Francisco and have thought of this question often because of the high homosexual concentration.

What I've found is that who are we to compare our sins? Think of the time when Jesus was dining in the house of the Simon and a woman had cried on His feet and wiped the tears with her hair. Jesus told the parable of the rich man who loaned two different sums and forgave both debts.

Yes, homosexuality is a sin, but so are many of the acts we commit everyday! Unrighteous persons will not inherit God's kingdom, but thankfully Jesus makes us righteous in God' eyes if we have faith that He took our sin upon him.

I see some people as in more need of a Savior than others, and rather than judge somebody to hell (which we have no power), i would rather pray and thank God for His grace and mercy upon us.

I actually kind of agree with the thought process behind this question. When you say "I'm a christian." or "I'm a Muslim." or any other religion, you can't just say "But the in the rulebook, this rule and that rule and this rule over here don't really count, and people take them too literally, anyway." If you break the rules of the club, kids, and flout them to boot, the club shouldn't be forced to let you remain a member! Not saying this as a member of any religion in particular, but more as a purveyor of common sense!

i mean it's like the whole thing where the girl wanted to jon the BOY scouts, and sued to be allowed to. The problem is, it's absurd. There are other clubs to join that are for you, why do people INSIST on being allowed into the club that is not? People who do these things don't feel just a little awkward being the only person of their particular persuasion in a group that loathes them? Are you a glutton for punishment? I mean seriously...If the Catholic church tells me that having brown hair is a sin...guess I won't join them. You get what I'm saying here, folks?

You forget to quote which translation of the Bible you are using. KJV? NIV? NAS? Which one? Or were you perhaps using the original Greek or going even further back to the original Hebrew?

Anyways, to answer your question: Yes, there are many active homosexuals who believe that they can be good Christians. I have met many Christians who are homosexuals (some active, i.e. in a loving relationship that engages in sex and some inactive, i.e. in a loving relationship but do not engage in sex, and some who are are not only inactive in that they do not engage in sex, but also inactive in that they do not seek companionship and form loving relationships).

All I can say is that these Christians who are homosexuals are generally a part of churches and denominations where the interpretations are different than perhaps your Christian church and/or denomination's interpretation (perspective) on those verses.

Hope that answers your question. I really can't answer the question about the Anglican Communion, specifically the Episcopal Church, because for that perspective you'd have to talk to Anglicans/Episcopalians. The one's I know have varying views on this and many other subjects. The Anglicans/Episcopalians seem to be a church with a lot of different perspectives and in general individuals are charged with interpreting the Bible for themselves, but the duty of the Church is to come together for worship and communion and to also be an outward sign of God's love to the world. Atleast, that is what I've been told by conservative, traditional, moderate, liberal, and progressive Anglicans/Episcopalians. I'd have to say, from an outsiders view, that if that is what unites them then they definately do accomplish their duty.

Hello,web. Good question.
Yes,Homosexuals truly believe that God will not condemn them for their acts. Some of them believe or not that a Loving God will just overlook their sins and not send them to eternal damnation because they really believe they were created by God to live this lifestyle. I don't honestly have any info or understanding on Anglican churches with gay priests but what I do know is that this is an abomination unto God. Homosexuals cannot be Christians.

I'm not an atheist, pal, I'm Wiccan. And for the record, that is HISTORICAL record, the bible was writen to reflect societies views at the time. They didn't have even a fraction of the knowledge that we have available today.Scientists have proven it's a naturally occurring thing, that gay people were in fact born that way.And it is human nature to want to villify anything that does not conform to social norms. It has nothing to do with 'God', and I'm sure that if a gay person was a good person at heart, they'd get into heaven before one of those nasty bigots pounding on the bible would!

I think that eveyone has a weakness or a special sin that no matter how hard they try, they can't stop doing it. But the fact remains that we are all sinners and if we repent, God will forgive us. If the gay person does no other sin and apologizes to God for this "supposed sin" then why could they not be considered a good Christian. I believe the Bible also says "Let he who be without sin cast the first stone." And if you want to debate more (in a friendly manner) then e-mail me at airforcebratswife@yahoo.com

HOLD ON A MINUTE !

Webboffin has not claimed to be God or judging anyone.

He simply quoted scripture that is God's own word on the matter and asked a very serious question to homosexuals for an answer.

If Webboffin was claiming to be God he would of altered it but it is found in any bible.

To a christian all scripture is relevant and valid.

i didnt know god has a fax. or stands around in bible publishing houses doing quality control tests. how can you say the bible is the word of god? its certainly words about god, but it was written by men. men with their own prejudices, their own problems, their own agendas, their own translation issues. i mean why would god need to tell us about the great flood when the epic of gilgamesh already told us about it before the bible was written? and why on earth werent we given the whole story sooner? are you going to tell me that god sat in the conference with the great emporer constantine and picked which books were going to be included in the bible and which werent? men did all this. i mean, "be fruitful and multiply" is all well and good, but surely youre not saying god wants us to have millions of children starving to death because we cant feed them due to a massive population explosion. surely god doesnt lie, or break his own oaths. if he doesnt (and we know he doesnt) then why are we given dire warnings about the end times, when god made a covanent with noah that he would never destroy the earth again? and why do christians deny jews when god made a covanent with abraham that if we circumcised our children, we would be his chosen people? obviously, man has a different agenda between the old testament and the new. and if every word in the bible is literal, how do you take the news that the bible supports the existance of other gods? look at the greater truths. dont spend your life looking at the details that are probably the reflection of mans own prejudice.

The bible is outdated. It doesn't apply to the world as it is today. Yes, I believe that they could become good christians, even if they are homosexual. Homosexuality is something you are born with, it's not a choice. Scientists have discovered there is a gene that makes people gay. That was back in the 90's.
