The health department requires food storage at 40 degrees as anything above that is prime breeding ground for bacteria. Meats are especially bad to leave at room temp. It only takes 2 hours for the bacteria to form. You may be okay with a vegetarian cheese pizza but you are taking your chances. Food poisoning is quite unpleasant and not worth the risk. Between 40 and 140 degrees are the danger zones for food storage.

I think it would be safer in the fridge. Bacteria, or other germs, need time, food and moisture (or wetness) to grow; but they won't grow when the temperature of the food is colder than 41º F or hotter than 140º F. The temperatures in between 41º and 140º are in the "Danger Zone." Keep potentially hazardous foods out of the "Danger Zone!" For example, when food is left in the "Danger Zone", bacteria can grow fast, and make poisons that can make your customers and family very sick.

Eating any prepared foods that have been left out isn't good. You will get sick most likely, unless you have a stomach of steal. Some people do.

Not a good idea, bacteria love luke warm food. But it is pretty unlikely that you would get sick if it sat out for a couple hours.

Well, bacteria can grow on the cheese overnight if it's not properly cooled.
