It just mystifies me how some people can absolutely show such disdain for Christ and Christians. Yeah, we can't prove we're right, but that doesn't mean we're not.

I think that the problem stems from people proselytizing. On the surface, I can understand this, as I was a "victim" of it during my younger days. I hated the way it made me feel guilty for being a "sinner", as well as the "sureness" in their way--the utter confidence that they were right and everyone else is wrong--but now that I'm on the "other side" it makes perfect sense.

If you believe that Christ is "The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me", why wouldn't you badger and cajole everyone you can to get them to heaven. To me, it's the ultimate act of love.

The morals are fine, yes, but a lot of people don't share the same point of view, and are happy that way. The attempts to convert are seen as obnoxious, therefore, especially because growing a belief in god is a hard and/or personal thing to do.

As for the hatred, some of that comes from bigots, but that's also because the loudest Christians are the most conservative ones, the ones against gays and basically anything that doesn't fit into their perfected view of the world. I know that this sort of behavior varies from Christian to Christian, but it's still part of the image.

As for Christianity on the whole, if you look back in history some of the bloodiest wars were led by Christians with that small minded, "well OUR religion is the right one" mentality, who were trying to get rid of competition, or were convinced that their god thought it was right to crush divergents. That would probably explain lingering bad feelings today.

No hatred here for Christianity..only disdain for the leaders of the fan club.
How can one religion stand so high on its soap box and use the contents of it's "rule book" as a reference and beating club to back up and enforce all it considers pure and righteous when
A: This "reference book" is said to not be added to or deleted from, and man has decided what to toss out and what to keep in, and call it THE BIBLE.
B:One can only be saved by hearing about and accepting Christ....therefore unless you have been raised in a country where you have had the "pleasure" of hearing the word you are doomed (sounds like a spiritual ethnic cleansing to me)
C:The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity. The 4 gospels tell different accounts of the resurrection, in fact Mark...the earliest gospel tells of no resurrection. The account in Mark was added MANY years later as a p.s by someone else,
Matthew, Mark , Luke and ther gospel of John all tell very different stories of the resurrection. No gospels mention ascention, except what was also added many years later by someone else as well.
D:Buddhism is 500 years older than Christianity,It appears that a lot of uncanny parallels seem to have been taught about Budda long before Christ was on the scene.(budda feeding disciples with a few scraps of food, Buddah walking on water, meek inheriting the earth, loving neighbors etc.etc were all told of Buddah long before before Christ was given credit for these original acts.
I believe Christ was a good man and a wise teacher, I don't hate Christians...I love all, I just think we need to be educated, not brainwashed.

Some people who don't believe in christianityare afraid to. If they believe then they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and stop their sinning ways. Well when this happens they feel like they can't have any fun. So they reject it. We as christians should always approach others in a loving way as Christ did. We should never force our believes on anyone. We can share what we believe then let the Holy Spirit take over from there.

There will come a time in your life that you'll be able to discern your powers, i.e., your role here on earth, how many people you can attract, etc. However, if you feel that you have an obligation to tell the truth--the doctrine of Jesus Christ, be not afraid, for you will be rewarded. Are you not glad, that after those struggles as to whether there is God, your belief that there is God was concretized!
God said: "Bless are those who have not seen, yet they believe."
But be aware, too, to those non-believers, after you have declared that Jesus Christ is God, yet they don't believe, do not insist, you have done your job.
Continue seeking the Kingdom of Heaven and everything shall be given unto you.
As to the hatred for Christians, we cannot save those who hate the Christians. One may be able to preach to millions, while another one may be able to preach to a few. We have gifts, it is us who can discern.
If you refer to Muslims and Christians, as to why they hate each other, there is story about it. It starts with Abraham's sons Isaac and Ismael. This question does not just come out today, it was there thousands of years ago, in the pre-biblical times. Just search.

It's a death cult from the Middle East and is intent upon global conquest. Look at the history of your faith and you will see blood-bath after blood-bath. Genocide, slavery, holy wars, colonization, torture and murder. You dont see Buddhists acting like that, do you? Taoists? Shinto? Hindu? And Islam is just like Christianity. Both of you say 'Conform or be Damned'. Is social conformity the basis of human spiritual development? No. Its more important for you to convert others to your Lord's service than for you to have a good relationship with your own Lord. Your faith is evil, the cause of countless sufferings and deaths. Your fellow Christians spread hatred and evil and most of them even pray for the world to be destroyed and all life on it to die so that your God can torture, for all Eternity, most of the people on it. You worship a dead man who, in effect, is a Hanged God, a Gallows God. Evil Death Cult covers it pretty well, doesnt it?

Maybe what you are selling is NOT true Christianity. Maybe what you're selling is intollerance for ideas / beliefs different from your own. Maybe you're simply disappointed that others choose to think for themselves, and you're not winning their loyalty.

I've been reading, studying, and pondering the Bible for over 35 years, and the last things I want is for some know-it-all religionist to be thumping their ignorance at me. I think their piety, emotionalism, dogmatism, and whining is repulsive to say the least.

I think lack of knowledge about christian and lack of respect from others towards other people religions make people tend to hate or dislike one and another religion.
Respect is the key towards the peace of the world..
