Start by taking everything out and paint the room in the colours you like, prefering light shades. Then start putting your things back, choosing the ones you really need and toss the rest (if you can not decide which ones you need, there's a hint: put away all things you have not used for the last two years in storage; if after six months you have still not used them, toss them away). If you can buy new furniture, prefer a bed with storage space below and shelves on the walls are very usefull. If you are fond of reading, you can always put a book shelf above your bed, behind your head, equipped with a reading light.
A center table with storage space is very useful; you can combine it with small sitting stools that could be arranged under the table.

Good luck!

Hi,
I had the same problem. I went to the Lumber-yard, and had an 8ft length of approx. 6X6, cut into four pieces. That elevated my bed two feet, plus the box springs and mattress add another 15 inches or so. Now, I have tons of storage under my bed.
You will need a post for the center. I found a 2x4 that worked fine. I just pulled the wheels off the frame. It kind of sways, but is against the wall, and I love living dangerously. ha ha Actually, I put extra boxes of bedding etc Under it. I got some long flat boxes from a Futon delivery at the corner house.
I use a wine box (has a honey-comb. separation) , to climb up. Lid facing the floor. On my ceiling, I tacked up the corners of two table runners with animals and Leopard trim. Looks Harem'ish. Forgot the first night and got out of bed running. The dog also forgot and she yipped. We only forgot once. Actually, we are at window level, and love the fresh air.

well my advice would be to downsize your stuff another words get rid of anything you havent used in the last month as you move everything out to paint and you could also get those plastic carts with wheels they have three drawers each and they are stackable its great for making your closet more functional there are also some you can roll under your bed as well I have several of thises and its great it gave me more room in my room and you could also put up shelves on your walls for any collectibles and as you put stuff back in your room after the paint dries you can downsize more if you need to. I hope this was helpfull to you I had to do this when i moved from a house to an apartment which everything deffinitly would not have fit and i know its hard getting rid of stuff but i had a lot of stuff as a single mom of four with another on the way. I hate getting rid of stuff but I also hate cleaning and the more stuff you have the more cleaning you have to do. Let me know how it goes I hope all ends well. Oh yeah what color are you painting?

First, you simply select the stuff that can give you happy memories. Then try to place the rest in a box then give them to the poor :) I am sure, the giver will be happier than the receiver.

Then, paint your room with your favorite color in a lighter manner. If the door of your room faces North, be sure to place your bed or a pot of fortune plant to the left corner of the northern portion of your room. (I hope you understand ;) what I mean.) Then place your study table near the door to activate your knowledge. Then, the rest of your stuff must be placed in a cabinet.
I hope this will help. Have a nice day :)

Take everything out of your room. Paint It. Only put the things back in your room that you like. Get rid of the rest: trash, donate, sell, etc. Use the height of your room by making your bed higher (they have special thingies to raise your bed or you can just use Cender Blocks and cover them w/ your bedskirt). For knick knacks/awards/pictures/crap,etc, you could install shelves around the top of your room. This will allow you to keep special stuff but it wont be in your way. Use your new under the bed space for more staorage. you could even get rid of your dresser and just use the storage under your bed for your folded clothes.

There are thousands of paint colors to choose from when painting an interior room. Because colors affect how you feel when you are in a room, they may be used to create a mood. Walls are the best places to begin designing a color scheme because they are the largest surface in a room.

first take everything out of you room and paint and after painting hang over the wall shelves to put or decorate your things that were in your room...like books, pictures, toys, etc....leave the big things for the room but the small items for the shelves.....email me at israelmoya20@yahoo.com and tell me how it went..

Go with light colors, that makes the room look bigger and have a yard sale or donate to good will.
