It's the same as if someone hated and acted out against something that was personally significant to you. No one likes to be attacked and religion is a touchy subject. Faith is very important to a lot of people. You have every right to disagree or even dislike the beliefs of others but the minute you attack someone for their beliefs, you put them on the defensive - that is the nature of being human. Is it the love of Christ, Allah, Buddah etc, no. They would have acted differently under the circumstances sure but keep in mind that religious beliefs are attacked 24-7 by all sorts of people. Personally, I'm a christian and I do get wearied by the attacks but it doesn't effect how I believe or how I feel about my faith. Sometimes, I do act out and get angry. As far as who's "close minded"? I think both parties. Those attacking are close minded to the fact that faith for some is meaninful and those with faith are close minded to the fact that there is no way everyone will agree with you and you can't change the minds of the entire world.

He has a right to his feelings and maybe the reason why he is so upset with religious people is due to hypocrisy? Any true religious person should pray that he is helped and that the hate he has will be taken away by understanding.

Hi Kevin, I suppose people become angry because we tend as hmans not to think thru our response but write and respond on a whim our feelings and emotions. However there is some cause of concern, let me explain. The Bible say's we will die, but when we die we will stand bfore God on Judgement day and give an account of every thought word and deed. The Ten Commandments will be his standard so let's look at a few..........
Have you ever lied?
Have you ever stolen something?
Have you ever looked with lust?
Have you ever used God's name in vain?
How did you do? are you guilty of any of the above? if you have said yes to any of the questions above here is the predicament. The BIble says if God gives you and I according to our sins, you and I will end up in Hell. That's not God's will, and thats why I have come to talk to you. Jesus Christ came to earth and lived a perfect life but willingly gave that life up on the cross for you and I. we broke the law, but Jesus paid our fine. Think about all your sins and Jesus being so kind as to lay down his Life for us. This thought is very humbling. here's How to be Forgiven: Repent (turn from your sin), and trust Jesus alone as your Lord and savior. trust Jesus like you would trust a parachute before a 30,000 ft Jump. if you do this God will surely forgive you of all your sins and grant you the gift of everlasting life with Him in heaven. thanks for your time.

It probably made them feel the same way as if someone were to tell you that they hated everyone who played WoW. Because you are obviously an immature kid looking for a rise. Sorry I don't let that kind of stuff get to me. Sadly not all Christians are as intelligent as I am.

You don't deny anyone that feeling--it's part of their humanity. They're not robots; neither are they perfect. Otherwise, they wouldn't be having the need to believe in God.
Who's closeminded and ignorant in that situation? It's most probably who started it all. Peace.

Thank you for this reminder.
I am a Christian and I am not mad at you.
I used to be an atheist myself. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
