hmmm about 700MB not sure...I encode into divx and get a full 8GB video file to generally about 400-500MB....but to rip I recommend Ahead DVD Ripper and then use vdub to compress into divx...just make sure you don't compress it when you rip from ahead...best of luck...and btw dvd shrink isn't to rip its to shrink as you rip...but then designed to burn back onto dvd in .vob format.

You can use WinAvi Converter. It can take an 8gb dvd and fit it to a 4 gb dvd, or a 700mb cdr, or a 650mb cdr. The other nice thing is that it can convert a whole dvd small enough to fit on a small memorystick for your PSP or PDA. The software is free to try, but you have to buy it to use all the stuff in it.

You have to shrink it, and that is a special program.
