Now that I watched the whole thing, it seem that the wheel chair pushers were all choreographed in the same way. They all slapped the guy around in the same way as if they were coached.

I think it has alot to do with their personal issues they are suffering from. Many people don't even realize how hurtful they can be. I personally would try to stick to places where you might find a more stable mind. A person who has their personal issues under control as well as knows what their ambitions in life are. Good luck!
