Jack Daniels hadn't been invented yet. A little known fact is that he did turn the salsa dip into bar rail whiskey, and then went on to invent "Sneaky Petes". Which, by the way, is what brought Lazarus back to life.

Seriously, wine was about the only way to make 'clean' water. Jesus made wine out of water because He cared.

may be jack Daniels was not invented at that time. they knew only wine at that time.but why did Jesus turn water into wine.u mean to say that wine is healthier than water ? i feel water is more necessary than wine. i'll ask him when i meet him next time.

Jesus did this miracle for two reasons.
1- there was no more wine. John 2:3
2- to manifest his glory so his disciples would believe. John 2:11
wine was and is still customary at weddings.

He was at a wedding and they ran out of wine and so he turned water in to wine, that was his first miracle
