YES!!! I spent 20 years of my life protecting that SYMBOL of my country, protecting liberal rights to abuse me and every other service member, and ensuring that freedom of speech exists.
Speech, however, is vocal emanations or written word. Speech has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with acting out. Burning my flag will result in someone being grievously injured.

Yes, The American flag represents freedom and is a symbol of our great nation. If I saw anyone burning the flag I would punch them in the face. Free speach only goes so far. As a side note I don't think rebel flags should be allowed. They represent a seperation of the UNION.

No. The flag is a very important SYMBOL of the liberties that are the inherent right of US citizens, one of which is "free speech." If burning the flag is made un-constitutional then the symbol itself is proclaimed to be more important than what it symbolizes, and thus what it symbolizes becomes meaningless. If you believe in what the flag symbolizes then you have to accept flag burning, as distasteful as it might be.

A country is built by people, not cloth. The minute a flag is given more importance than people, then it'll be people being burned. Rather the flag be burn and the principles behind it safe than have the country become a prison where the only salvation is its complete destruction.

I think they should prohibit burning flags in a public place only. I just think that prohibiting it all together will be too much like the ideology of dictators and fascists. It would be too much like the ideology of leaders such as Stalin, Mussolini and Pol Pot. I believe that is alright to promote nationalism, but not alright to stop people from expressing their feelings.

No! If you do that, those who burn flags win. I served my country for 13 years navy and 9 years as a civilian employee.People forget that it is not the symbols that make this country great. It is the belief of the people and the principles that we live by/represent LIFE,LIBERTY,and The Pursuit of Happiness. America stands for FREEDOM and endless possibility. We must show by our actions that we are a FAIR,and JUST country. We must exemplify those principles everyday. No lying, cheating, stealing, hating and fighting among ourselves. We don't need more laws. We need to stop hiding behind symbols and be AMERICA!!!! Peace.

When I was young, people had enough respect for the flag that there was no need for a law. If they wanted to protest something they found another way. burning the flag is only what a traitor would do.

No. You don't amend the constitution every time you want a new law. If you want a law make a law. The constitution works because it is of a manageable size and isn't amended every time the pubic has a mood swing.

i do not pick to work out human beings desecrating the flag. yet this variety of regulation might want to limit human beings from desecration. it would want to do not have any result on human beings in different international locations. The flag is a representation of our liberties and freedoms, and between the biggest of those freedoms is the right to loose speech, or for this reason expression. the freedom to precise that you're unhappy with the present political beliefs of the final public of human beings. might want to we attempt to outlaw those who do not always consider us vocalizing / demonstrating, lets all be the poorer for it. And what might want to be next? nicely, we don't love what the newspaper prints, or what the commentator says on television, so we would want to bypass an modification that asserts we gained't say something undesirable about the authorities. I say, if that is this form of united states you pick to stay in, that you should work out about moving to China, or North Korea, or Iran...Syria... etc. how you could save human beings from desecrating their own international locations flag, is to easily no longer pay interest to the message they're attempting to espouse through doing in an attempt to achieve interest.

Yes. The flag stands for our country not any political party. If you burn the flag you are saying that you hate our country. If you hate our country how can we trust you to live here? I think it is treason. I say make a law calling it treason. Then enforce it.
