There are good and bad points to both. I personally think home schooling is better for children until their decision making skills are matured. This would ensure that they would not be easily influences by other children who were not exposed to the same values that they were. Some other negative things about going to school would be the child's safety in the schools, overcrowded schools, shortage of teachers and then the inadequate teachers just to name a few.
Being home schooled the parents have the option to teach them the topics that they choose (within the curriculum guidelines) The negative thing about home schooling would be lack of peer interaction, the chance to develop pubic speaking skills and exposure to more than one teacher.

Going to school. Home schooling does not teach a child any social skills, such as how to cope with people on a daily basis. I know a couple who have 4 daughters ages 8 - 16, all of whom were home schooled. When they go out in public it's like they're afraid of EVERYTHING, almost like they have been closed off from the world completely. In the home they are very well behaved but they act like a bunch of hillbillies. These are normal healthy children but being secluded from "the real world" through home schooling is surely going to have a negative effect on their lives.

I experienced both growing up. I was only homeschooled for a little less than 2 years, but I can say that i learned far more during that time than ever during the traditional schooling.
That said, I don't think one or the other is always best. It really depends on the specific circumstances, and what kinds of schools are available, compared to what kind of time and ability to homeschool is available. But, in my observation, there are many, many success stories from homeschooling (the vast majority), and many disasters from traditional schooling, so I find it hard to understand how someone can say that traditional schooling is 'better' across the board.

If you have the money to afford home school, then go for it, you will be able to finish much faster which gives you a chance to enjoy life a bit longer, but if you can't afford it, then going to school, meeting people, stereotyping each other sounds cool, i think i like that concept better.

Send them to public school. I really know this subject. If you are that involved with your children's schooling, then your kids will excel. Keeping them at home though, does not allow them to interact with kids thier own age. This is a major part of the learning process.
You volunteer for everything you can at the school. Believe me, when you are availiable to help out at thier school, and allow teachers who trained to teach your kids , and allow your babies to learn about life by being around others thier age...........your child will become a more rounded adult.

i feel that going to school is healthier. one of the most important lessons any person can learn is interaction w/ others. that's something that ppl will use all throughout their lives til the day they die. in a home school environment, u aren't exposed to the types of relationships necessary to mold ur character as u move towards adulthood.
just my opinion.
