OMG they should still be with thier mother who would be teaching them all this i dont know why you have these kittens so early just put the litter tray next to thier food and they will find it or put them in it after each feed and they will get the hang of it, they still should be fed by mum tho untill about 8 weeks :(

keep the kittens confined to a small area. so they dont get to far away from their litter box. that way they can find it in time. putting the kittens inside the litter box after each feeding is a must. cats are clean by nature really do prefer to have a litter box. so it normally doesnt take long in the teaching. but they are still little and will have accidents. so make sure you pick up the mess and put it inside the litter box. you also can take their paws and help them scratch around the litter so they know what they should be doing. this is something they learn by watch thier mom. but confining them is crucial as they might not make it in time if they have to travel to far to the litter box

First they need to still be with there mother. Second the mother (if she is a indoor cat) most of the time she teaches them. If not when they turn about 6-8 weeks (and off there mother) after every meal and drink take them to the litter box and take there front paws and show them how to stratch. They will go in 30 minutes after a meal.

Just in case they have an accident, throw the little mess in the litter box, and then put the kittens in there... that way they know exactly what it's for... This has always been 100% successful for me

This may sound weird, but when they go number two, pick it up and put it into the litter box, then put them in the litter box and move their paws to show them how to bury it. The smell of their own feces will let them know where to go.

Hi Chris - (if your the one that sent me the message - thanks for letting me know I should let people know where I'm at - thanks for that - I wasn't thinking.
But in answer to your question: just put a little box down with some ("clumping cat sand" in it) don't use Johnny Cat it's a waste of money, show the kittens where the box is and put them in there and I always take their little paws and show them how to dig and normally they'll just go potty in there - it's very intuitively built in their brains - it just comes natually.

Easy it's always worked with me:
Scrape there front paws in the litter tray and they will just automaticly know what to do, at first they will walk over it and do nothing but when they feel the urge to go they will go lol.

I agree with midnite- place their paws in the litter box, move them around a little, they will know what it's for- if they have an accident, clean it up and spray a little vinager/water mix on the place they had it- then hold the kitten's nose to it after and tell them 'no' or 'naughty'
