whats the difference between a islamic and a christian. I started dating this guy who i just found outbwas islamic. Hes going through a divorce right now but made a statement that he has to try and work things out bwith his wife and take these classes and go 2 counsling because hes a islamic and so he has to. I dont get it at all. Can someone help

Islam is based on the idea that the prophet Muhammad was spoken to by the angel Gabriel, and wrote the Koran which is supposedly, God's revelation to him. They believe in many of the prophets, and even Jesus, but the difference is, Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God. Muslim's just see him as a prophet. That's the difference. Also, Islam can be much more strict in their traditions and beliefs.

Well i think even in christian u hav to attend some sort like a counseling thing if u r about to divorce. Cause in Islam we are not encouraging divorce, so that is why ur bf has to undergo counseling.
Anyway,(to the person comment above) Islam doesnt stick to so called traditional things, but we stick to thing that is good for us..
respect other people religions as it will help u to understand the people norms n values..

The major difference between islam and any other religion is the 'oneness of God'.
Islam teaches us that there is no God but one only, there is nonworthy of worship but Allah the Almighty (God) and Mohammad (peace be upon him) is the last (and final) messenger of Allah the Almighty).
Believers of this statement are known as muslims and disbelievers are known as non-muslims.
There are other things too, which a muslim must believe on but this statement is the basis of islam.
As far as I understand from your question is a man is in process to divorce his wife.
In islam, there is a very specific procedure of divorcing a wife.
This is not a joke, we are going to affect a woman's life.
There is a long procesdure of how to divorce. If that guy is follwoing the procedure, its very good. If you need to know the details of divorce procedure, please refer to a islamic scholar. There is no harm to find out the truth.

It's just a religion. And there are many. there are many forms of Christianity too. Religion is man made. If you love him and the feeling is mutual...religion should not be a factor.
