A criminal is someone who disobeys laws of a state and country. A criminal advocate is someone who supports the rights of the criminal committing that offense to the state and country.

Criminal = someone guilty of a crime
Advocate = pleads the cause of another

If the advocate does not consider the person they are supporting a criminal.....well your question is mute.

Well I agree with the first guy. But the advocate is someone who speaks for the criminal to help them in their trial or whatever. just like a victims advocate. They advise them what is going to happen and what they need to be prepared for.
