ok first of all - if the person who cited New Balance shoes was in America - here's a newsflash - New Balance is the only shoe company that makes shoes in America - and guess what - it costs more to do business there. It's not just the brand in that case.
-- Now - to my dear friend KH. Dude you live in Beijing-you will pay ANYTHING not to drink out of the tap there and you know it. It's about 50% costs and 50% marketing. It's water - and it's hauled in from France - and they've been charging a fortune for it for years. Bottled water is the biggest scam (right behind oil) lets open a bottling plant in Mainland! We'll call it T'yvonne!

Like others said, you are mostly paying for the name. Evian is nothing THAT different than any other water, it just claims to be. I know alot of people who claim that it is more healthy because it has a higher amount of minerals PPM (parts per million) than other bottled water brands, and it actually states it on the bottle.

I think and it's my oppinion is that the evian water your paying more for the name as to where you pay more also for instance like new balance shoes............your paying more for the name........But i have to say i love the name evian lol my daughter named my grandbaby that name but spelled it Eveyon........Hope this helped you too realize you pay for the name brand on any thing is what it boils down to.....Terry

I live in a third world country ....... i drink water direct from the tap. What is Evian water? Some water in a bottle with a fancy name that cost you half a month of your salary. We are just thankful we have water .....

NOTHING! Evian spelled backwords is Naive. Think about that. It's not a good tasting water at all.

i dont know........its name brand just like all other name brand items are expensive..........the best water ever is Sam's Choice water at Wal Mart.....only 35 cents per bottle

it's imported... yes we have water in our country too, but it's not good unless you pay $10 for it
