well for starters id get to know him as a 'firend' to see if his interesting or if you feel its would work. If you have already done this and you guys are sorta mates etc then id just ask him to a movie or party eg( Hey what you doing this weekend etc? Did you want to catch a movie or go to a party?) Id go from there. Asking directly might scare him as it tends to scare some of my friends when a guy does this. Just remember to take it easy and slow. To fast is also fast for let down. If you are unable to go to movie or party then perhaps just go for the mate approach for now until timing is right.

Do not tell him he is hot. That is the most unoriginal thing you can say and it makes you look superficial.
Tell him he seems like a really nice caring person and that he is the type of guy that you like to go out with. That shows that you are deep and at the same time doesn't de-emasculate him, because now he has to ask you out since you just told him that you like him.

Yeah... directly. It usually catches the guy off guard because "were the ones who are supposed to do that". seriously its rare when a girl approaches a guy but youd be surprised. Unless the guy is an insensitive dickwad you shouldnt worry... it shows confidence and initiative too. DONT DO IT ONLINE OR THROUGH AN EMAIL!

I would try to get to know him first. Do not jump right in cos you might ended up feeling like a fool if he turns you down. See how is his reaction towards you. If he shows some interest to be your friend. Then you can ask him if he would like to go for a drink.

i had the same prob. but i am a guy and i asked out a girl i asked a good friend to ask her for me i just say ask good friend GOOD LUCK!!!!

be casual, just say "(inserty name here) I like you" he will do the rest, good or bad, you will get a response.
