Yes, olive oil is fattening, but it's also very good for you b/c it prevents cardiovascular diseases; the monosaturated fat in olive oil encourages the body to produce the transport of cholesterol. You should only take it in moderation though (like peanuts, just eat a handful everyday, not more b/c it's just too fattening).
Same thing with Sashimi, well, it depends what kind of sashimi. Salmon has the good fat too... but you shoudn't eat too much of it if you're trying to lose weight. But to maintain weight, you can definitely incorporate salmon (or sashimi in general) in your diet. Just remember to eat it in moderation.... (that's what's hard about it right, b/c they're sooooo good!) =)

Olive oil is one of the healthiest oils you can use in food preparation. It is not fattening, plus it has other added advantages. You can pour some in your bath water, you can use it as a face oil, as a hair moisturizer before shampooing, or as an additive in thick lotions (topical). As far as sashimi...it is just raw fish sliced paper thin. Aside from maybe some rice vinegar, there is nothing on it to make you gain weight. Off course, if you OD on it you will feel awfully full.

Sure, olive oil is fattening as it is a fat, but it's good for you fat, meaning it's not as damaging to your heart as animal fats/saturated fats. It's still a fat, so if you are watching your weight, don't pour it on. In moderation, olive oil is really good for you.
Sashimi is great--fish has omega-3 fats, good for you and keeps your skin glowing and healthy.

I think olive oil. Obviously, the Japanese eat lots of sashimi and somehow they have an average life span of 92 years...and that's just for the guys!

Any food eaten in excess is fattening. A well balanced diet containing these foods wouldn't be fattening. Portion size is the key.

No, and no. Unless you drink a bottle or eat an entire raw fish.
