how much insulin are you using to get you sugars under control

I felt betrayed by the medical system. I was a hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and got a hormone shot for a feminine disorder (DUB). I had told the doctor I was hypoglycemic twice. He ordered the shot, and I trusted him. Two days later, my sugars were still up to 180, and I was just beginning to think straight, when I read the booklet that came with the shot, and it said "Do not give to diabetics".

That was 4 years ago. I have been trying to control my sugars through diet and am now off the metformin (by my own choice). I have never gotten so bad as to need insulin of any sort.

Check out www.hufa.org for basic info on hyperinsulinemia, the precursor to diabetes.

I was 16 and I was very angry. I did not feel well emotionally or physically. I am on insulin. When I got pregnant about a 2 years ago I was put on the insulin pump. It was the best decision of my life. I am now 29.
