Tertullian, one of the early church fathers, coined the term "Trinity." The word actually means "three-ness." Tertullian was an ardent supporter of orthodoxy in the church, and was one of the greatest defenders of the historic Christian faith.
The term "Trinity" is not found in the Scriptures, but the doctrine is clearly displayed. There are many times where Jesus said of Himself that He was God. He applied the name of God, "I AM," to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. There are several others I have not listed. Besides this, Jesus said that He & the Father were one (John 10:30). This describes a unity, even though there are two.
The Trinity has an underlying appearance in the Old Testament as well. In Genesis, we see during creation that God said, "Let us make man in our image." and also when man sinned, God said, "...man has become as one of us, to know good and evil..." Who was He speaking to? The other persons of the Trinity. We also see that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters in the beginning, and in John 1:1-3, it clearly states that Jesus (the Word) made everything.
Another angle to pursue is the various Scriptures that demonstrate that God's attributes are present in Jesus as well as the Holy Spirit. For example, the Father is eternal (Psalm 90:2), and so is the Son (John 1:2), and so is the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). Another shared attribute is their holiness. Only God is truly holy. The Father is holy (Revelation 15:4), so is the Son (Acts 3:14), and so is the Spirit (Acts 1:8).
An ancient diagram of the Trinity can be helpful in getting your hands around the doctrine, and can be found at the link in the SOURCE list.
The Trinitarian doctrine requires much more depth of discussion than can occur here. It is important to know that we only have to believe, not necessarily understand, the Trinitarian nature of God. It is a bedrock doctrine of the Christian church. Anything else is heresy.

Scripture states: "Hear O Isreal, the Lord our God is one God" Deut 6:4
As far as explaining it : you're out of luck. There is no explanation.
I don't understand it - yet I believe it.
My house has knob and tube wiriing in it. The "experts claim it is not a danger in and of itself -unless it is exposed"
Well, if this is so - please explain to me why it is not allowed in new construction if it is not a danger.
Explain why the sun is yellow
or why the sky is blue
why my husbands back hurts so bad this year when it didn't hurt that bad last year. It's only been 1 year.
Do you understand what arthritis is? I have it, but don't truly understand what it is and what is happening to my bones.
If you choose only to believe that which you understand - then Good Luck!
Jesus is God's son as found in John 3:16
Also in John (this is St John) ch 1 vs 1, you will read that "in the beginning was the "Word" (God)
vs 14 states The
WORD" (God) was made flesh adn dwlet among us (this is Jeus - God's son)
If you don't believe that Jesus is God - then let me ask you this:
In Phillipians 2:11 every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
Why would people do such a thing if Jesus wasn't God? Remember Deut; God is Lord!
If you would like to discuss it - NOT ARGUE it - feel free to e-mail me.

a million) you're putting forward if 3 in a million is obtainable, then it really is a contradiction and for this reason faux or compromised? If that's real, then atoms are illogical because an atom (a million) is produced from protons, neutrons, and electrons (3), so is the universe (a million) produced from time, area, and matter (3). Plurality in singularity is all round us, it would not make it a contradiction, it only screams that God made this international. 2) you've defined it to the point the position "no longer something" can in good structure the outline, because if God is countless, and God won't be able to create a sq. circle (one would say that he's not the author of effective judgment), then something more advantageous than God ought to exist, yet when God is countless, he's the superb component to exist, which negates itself. for this reason, something should be incorrect with the formulation of making a sq. circle. the reality is those are 2 diverse classifications. it really is both one or the different, no longer both. it really is like putting forward you won't be able to make a adverse absolutely. they're diverse classifications, for this reason making a contradiction in the formulation and proving it faux. 3) Jesus is God, there is not any longer a lot else to assert the following. the priority you look seeing is that you spot Jesus and God as diverse entities. Jesus does certainly equivalent God as you stated, because he's God. once you've the different questions, positioned up them. You look to have in uncomplicated phrases printed 3 because you spot them as "very few complications" which exhibits to me that you spot extra elsewhere. save posting questions, i love those. God bless.

It cannot be explained, because there is no Trinity, I can give you Scriptures so that you can decide whether there is or is not.
“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36) How do these words confirm that Jesus is not Almighty God?
Jesus says that the Father knows more than the Son does. If Jesus were part of Almighty God, however, he would know the same facts as his Father. So, then, the Son and the Father cannot be equal. Yet, some will say: ‘Jesus had two natures. Here he speaks as a man.’ But even if that were so, what about the holy spirit? If it is part of the same God as the Father, why does Jesus not say that it knows what the Father knows?
1st of all Jesus said: He pointed to God as the Source of his life, saying, “I live because of the Father.” According to the context, this meant that his life resulted from or was caused by his Father, even as the gaining of life by dying men would result from their faith in Jesus’ ransom sacrifice.—Joh 6:56, 57.
Jesus’ being called the “only-begotten Son” (Joh 1:14; 3:16, 18) does not mean that the other spirit creatures produced were not God’s sons, for they are called sons as well. (Ge 6:2, 4; Job 1:6) However, by virtue of his being the sole direct creation of his Father, the firstborn Son was unique, different from all others of God’s sons, all of whom were created or begotten by Jehovah through that firstborn Son. So “the Word” was Jehovah’s “only-begotten Son” in a particular sense,
Jesus is also “Mighty God” and “Eternal Father.” This does not mean that he usurps the authority and position of Jehovah, who is “God our Father.” (2 Corinthians 1:2) “He [Jesus] . . . gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.” (Philippians 2:6) He is called Mighty God, not Almighty God. Jesus never thought of himself as God Almighty, for he spoke of his Father as “the only true God,” that is, the only God who should be worshiped. (John 17:3;
Rev. 1:1; 3:14, RS: “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, why did God have to give the revelation to Jesus, if he is God? .
Does the Bible teach that none of those who are said to be included in the Trinity is greater or less than another, that all are equal, that all are almighty? Mark 13:32, RS: “Of that day or that hour no ones knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Of course, that would not be the case if Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were coequal, comprising one Godhead. And if, as some suggest, the Son was limited by his human nature from knowing, the question remains, Why did the Holy Spirit not know?)
John 14:28, RS: “[Jesus said:] If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.”
1 Cor. 11:3, RS: “I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.” (Clearly, then, Christ is not God, and God is of superior rank to Christ. It should be noted that this was written about 55 C.E., some 22 years after Jesus returned to heaven.
A person who is really seeking to know the truth about God is not going to search the Bible hoping to find a text that he can construe as fitting what he already believes. He wants to know what God’s Word itself says. He may find some texts that he feels can be read in more than one way, but when these are compared with other Biblical statements on the same subject their meaning will become clear. It should be noted at the outset that most of the texts used as “proof” of the Trinity actually mention only two persons, not three; so even if the Trinitarian explanation of the texts were correct, these would not prove that the Bible teaches the Trinity.

From what I can understand - not much, I'm an agnostic, so any real Christians out there pardon any slip-ups - the answer is that it was both. From what I understand, according to that theory, God is three parts of one being, an Ultimate Father (God), His Son (Jesus), and a sort of world-spirity-thingy (the Holy Spirit). So, according to this, Jesus is both God and God's son. At least, from what I can piece together.

Jesus is God's son. Jesus never said he was God, he said that he was his son. He said that his Father is greater than him; that the Father's will should take place not his own & that there were things the Father knew that neither he nor the angels knew. When I was a kid it didn't made sense to me that God would hide stuff from himself or who he was praying to in the garden before his death.
So, the trinity doesn't need to be explained because it doesn't exist.

he was neither. he was just a prophet sent by God. what Christians believe is that Jesus was god, his son, and the holy spirit at the same time. of coarse this is impossible, because if Jesus was God, how can he be crucified? how can people worship what they believe to be a dead man? another question for you to think about is if Christianity is monotheist, then how come they have three gods? and lets say God did have a son, if He is all powerful and all great, then why did Jesus have to supposedly die for everybody's sins rather than just ask his "father" to forgive everybody?

the simple thing is, Jesus (the son), God (the father), holy fire are all GOD
they are 1 GOD which have 3 diffrent thought, self.
but all 3 of them think 1 way, so all 3 think the same way with diffrent personality(not exactly personality, but i dont know word that better describe it}.

It’s like this…
God is three persons, but actually one, but three persons anyway, however it’s really only one, yet they are three persons, but not three gods, rather one god which is three persons, but it’s absolutely one god, yet three, yet one anyway because they say so.
Now, since god is three persons, one of the persons is able to send one of the other persons down to die, and the person who is on earth and about to die (he is eternal but can die anyway) can pray to the person who is still up there, and the person who is still up can be pleased, and not only that, but he can also forsake the person who in being crucified, who is himself?
The Christians call it “the mystery of the holy trinity”.
But it’s polytheism anyway.
