place the dish in a pan of water and they won't go in..also if you put a circle of salt around the pan the ants won't get it.

Ants In Dog Food Bowl

Get a bowl that has a rim around the top if possible. Also try to get a bowl that isn't plastic.

DO not use ant poison.
DO not use ant traps.
DO not spray any type of chemical at all.

I don't know if the cinnomon thing or salt thing would work because what if it rains or is windy? I suggest a better solution such as a non-plastic bowl put in a dry, open space.

it helps to provide the ants with an alternative form of food nearby, but not too close to the dog's bowl. perhaps some traditional picnic foods or sweets maybe...

In India this is done for the rats, where a bowl of milk is left out for them to satisfies the rat's nature and protect precious clothes which the rats enjoy feasting on.

good luck!

Sprinkle cinnamon around the dog's bowl. Ants don't like cinnamon.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU76o

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Either put your dogs food dish inside of another bowl with water in it. Or smear some vaseline over the bottom, outside part of your dogs bowl.

Put the feeding dish inside of a larger perimiter dish. Fill the outer dish with water - creating a moat around the feeding dish. The ants will not cross the water to get to the feeding dish.

I find that it is helpful to locate the ant line and spray the entire line all the way to the source. This way, the ants cannot follow that path for some time.
