At what age does a female stop bringing a boy and a male stop bringing a girl into the bathroom with them? I understand they must be kept safe, but there has to be an age limit!!!!

After 7 is a safer bet although most countries do not set a limit and let people's judgement decide. I was recently trailed by a security guard when I led my 6-yr old daughter to a cubicle in the Men's room. It was good thinking on his part to monitor such situations. I suppose in future, if alone with my daughter, I may have to request a willing stranger to escort her to the ladies.

Having said that, how safe is it for our young ones to go alone to the public bathrooms? Just today, there was a report of an 8-yr old girl who was raped and murdered when she went to a public bathroom in a Perth shopping mall.

I don't know that there is an official age limit. My oldest is 11. I know I would have a very hard time convincing him to go into the women's restroom. But if I felt it wasn't safe to let him go to the Men's, I wouldn't. I also wouldn't have a problem hollering into the Men's to see if there was anyone in there. Child safety first.

I think that 4 would be a good age for a boy. I don't know that girls should ever go in a men's bathroom. Not all the men are in stalls while they "do their business".

Six is the age when a child can recall his memory. So I guess that would be the time when you stop them.

Depends, if there's no other option or if the child is learning disabled, etc.
