A couple I learned in my youth about driving are
1. Watch where you are going. I got distracted once and ran into the back of a parked car. That was incredibly embarrassing.
2. Look back over your shoulder before changing lanes. One time I didn't and ran smack into a station wagon. That whole darned thing was in my blind spot.

A couple of things about people:
1. There are different types of intelligence. Once I thought only intellectual people were smart. Wrong!
2. Don't make the mistake of thinking you know something about a person based solely on outward appearance. It's what's inside that counts.

On the contrary, a smart man knows what he knows. A wise man knows what he *doesn't* know.

Besides that, if there's one thing I've learned it's that life goes on. Things work out. Time heals all.

Fortune cookie BS like that.

Cliques are cliques for a reason. I learned that, too.

Reach for the stars.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't try.
Life goes on.
For there is nothing good or bad; thinking makes it so. (Guess where that's from. :D)
Life flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind.
We think the caged bird sings when indeed it cries.
In life, you can be either the tiger or mouse. Rawr!

One of the best lessons that I've ever learned is that "it is easier to get bees with honey than vinegar." Usually by asking nicely and being pleasant, you can accomplish much more than by being pushy - at least initially!

try not to fall in love if the person loves another, not all men are bad, some are quite wonderful, if in need, don't think someone will help, do it yourself, can't depend on people, don't just trust someone because they seem sincere, look out for #1

It's not the good stuff where you grow. It's the tough stuff that molds and shapes you. The good stuff is the result of being molded and shaped.
