Some people believe in a paradise that is a beautifull warm garden where all our loved ones wait for and watch over us. The garden is full of sweet smelling flowers, fruit and vegtables, and there are waterfalls of clean crisp water to swim and bathe in. Beautifull birds sing in the trees and soar in the sky over head and every day is spent in the sunshine. There is no hate and greed, no cruelty,no pain, only pleasure, love and happiness.
If this is true, then you can find little pieces of Heaven on earth, everytime it is a beautifull blue sky fluffy cloud sweet breeze day, everytime you bite into a fresh perfectly ripe piece of fruit, or swim in a crisp mountain stream.
There is a mountain river by my boyfriends house and everyday we would hike down to it to shower. The sun would be hot and the water would be fresh and cool. We would sit on the bank for a half hour or so befor going in, and watch the birds and butterflys flying over head, listen and watch the water flowing over the rocks, and it felt like heaven to me, like everything was as it should be.That's my idea of heaven, of paradise.
Thanks for the greate question, I enjoyed thinking about it and anserwing it.

Actually when people die; they're asleep in the grave. Death is called a sleep (Matt.9:24; John 11:11; 1Cor.15:51; 1Thess.5:10).
The spirit goes back to God that gave it!(Eccles.12:7; Psalm 146:4)

The Bible describes three hells.

SHEOL OR HADES, THE FIRST HELL
The first term in Greek and Hebrew means the grave. It's the grave where the dead await the resurrection.
GENESIS 37:35---I SHALL GO DOWN INTO THE GRAVE.
PROVERBS 15:11--HELL & DESTRUCTION ARE BEFORE THE LORD.
ECCLES.9:10---NO WORK...OR KNOWLEDGE...IN THE GRAVE,
MATT.11:23---WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN TO HADES
1COR.15:55---O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY

GEHENNA, THE SECOND HELL
The second term in New Testament means the place of fiery destruction of the wicked.
MATT.5:22--...BE IN DANGER OF HELL FIRE
MATT.10:28--TO DESTROY BOTH BODY AND SOUL IN HELL

TARTAROO, THE THIRD HELL
This third term is only used once and refers to the place of restraint where the demon spirits were placed following the rebellion against God.
2PETER 2:4---BUT CAST THEM DOWN TO HELL.

THE THREE HEAVENS
There's 3 heavens.

First Heaven = This is also called the firmament or expanse of heaven. It is the heaven where the birds fly and where the clouds give rain. (Gen.1:26; 2:20; 8:2 & 1Kings 18:45)

Second Heaven = This refers to outerspace where the sun, moon and stars can be found. (Gen.22:17 & Exodus 32:13 & Joshua 10:13)

Third Heaven = The Apostle Paul tells us that the heaven of God's abode is the "third heaven." In the Old Testament this is often designated by the phrase "the heaven of heavens." (Joshua 2:11 & Psalms 11:4 & 2Corinthians 12:2 equated with v.4 = paradise)

THERE ARE TWO KINGDOMS: ONE ON EARTH AND THE OTHER ONE COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN.

The 1st Kingdom of Heaven =
DAN.7:27 = "AND THE KINGDOM AND DOMINION, AND THE GREATNESS OF THE KINGDOM UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, WHOSE KINGDOM IS AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM, AND ALL DOMINION SHALL SERVE AND OBEY HIM."
REV.5:10 = "AND HAST MADE US UNTO OUR GOD KINGS AND PRIESTS: AND WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH."

The 2nd kingdom of Heaven =
AFTER 1,000 YEARS = A NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH-HOLY CITY COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN = REV.21:1-4; ISAIAH 65:17-25; 66:1,22 AND ETC.

SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO---
ISAIAH 66:21; ZECH.14:9-11 = "BUILD HOUSES, PLANT VINEYARDS, EAT VINEYARDS"
ISAIAH 66:23; ZECH.14:16-19 = "WORSHIP FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER AS ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER"
JESUS WILL BE GIVING CITIES TO THE SAINTS INWHICH THEY WILL BE TEACHING OTHERS THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE = MATT.25:14-23; EZEKIEL 36:10,33; LUKE 13:26; ISAIAH 61:4
WE WON'T MARRY OR BE GIVEN UNTO MARRIAGE = MATT.22:30
BOYS AND GIRLS WILL BE PLAYING IN THE STREETS = ZECHARIAH 8:4-5,8
MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH = PSALM 37:9-11; MATT.5:5; REV.5:10

I don't think it's possible to imagine what Heaven, if one truely does exist, is like. Just like it's near impossible to comprehend just how big the universe is or the length of infinity.

I'm sure if there is a Heaven though, it won't matter; it will be glorious like the Bible describes. I often read about people who have experienced Near Death Experiences, and they describe a pure happiness, but what they saw they could not describe with any words that we know. The feelings were real and agreed though. Heaven sounds like a nice place to be in to say the least.

I'm really not sure. The sitting around and chanting of the Quedussha response seems to test my patience a bit, unless of course God is providing the "shrooms. You know "Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty from His throne!" could wear an eensy bit thin after a few millenial aeons.

Heaven's what you make it ; ) For some clues, read some of the many books out on near death experiences. The closest movie I've seen to that state of being is "What Dreams May Come."

I stopped by once, very empty, and white and clean. God told me that becuase everyone keeps changing the rules, people forgot the original message. Hell on the other hand, not quite as hot now that they installed central air, stays at a comfortable 80 degree's

Yeah, we have something to look forward to. When we get to heaven, it is the same comfortable warm feeling as a pile of freshly laundered clothes out of the dryer. You know what I mean; it's that feeling of warmth and coziness that you wish you could stay in forever--and this time, you can. Jesus greets you by name, and you see in His eyes the reflection of all of the things you did in your life to glorify God. You thank Him for enduring His death on the cross for your sins. Then He says, "Let me introduce you to Dad." If you think you know God in this life, you will be amazed in the next life. When you reach heaven you are nearer to God than you could ever be on Earth; in heaven there are no sins clouding your view of Him. You feel His love wrapped around you like a baby blanket. When you look at Him you realize that He look familiar. It takes a moment before you realize that He looks like you, because you were made in His image. His eyes are like large mirrors, and you see yourself reflected in them. You realize, with great joy, that with lack of sin you have been made whole again; the flaws you had before Heaven are gone. You are young, agile, and gloriously beautiful, just the way God intended you to be. God introduces you by name to the souls around you and says, "This is my child, whom I love; with him/her I am well pleased." There is a deafening cheer as the company welcomes you. You realize, with some surprise, and some expectancy, that you know everyone, for they are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Suddenly, you know everything about them. You see the man you helped across a street when you were little. You see a child from a World Vision commercial. You see how your life positively affected each and every one of their lives, and you praise the Lord for having brought you all together. You do not notice if anyone is missing; they were not your brother or sister in Christ, and they have fallen from your memory. You realize that this is life to the fullest, which God wants for all of us, and you are ever so glad to have lived your previous life in His grace.

Remember this the next time you are pulling clothes from the dryer.

Peace!
--Ginny

I think heaven is a state of mind after you die. Your perception of heaven is whatever you picture heaven being while you are alive. I think when you die, that perception carries thru to the afterlife. For example, while you are alive, you think heaven is rolling estates and a perfect world. When you die, that becomes your reality. Each person's heaven will be tailored to them.
