No way! I don't know how you came to that conclusion by reading the Bible...You must be listening to another of those preachers who knows nothing about the Bible and parrots everything he tells you from someone else.

I am so tired of preachers and lay persons who do not think for themselves but parrot what they hear from others and only consider one side of a question.

Well I think the bible is really a great history book, and has some great guidance, but you can't take the whole thing literally. I mean if Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel, where did the rest of the world come from??? Is our entire lineage based on incest?? Hum? Being a Catholic myself, I think the Bible has some excellent tools, like the Golden rule. So ask yourself using that as a yardstick; "would I want to see anyone else in pain like this?" If you say no, then I think it would be OK to use some medicine to ease your pain to rest, and ultimately recooperate faster

I cant imagine where you get that drugs equate sorcery. Medication is a gift of God. Pain meds can help you get through the worst of your healing. They help you regain your ability to move and to function. What you have to do is be sure not to take more than prescribed and to stop taking them as soon as you can.

It is the use of illegal drugs for the purpose of getting high that the Bible has a problem with, for obvious reasons. No, you can take the pain medication. But, as with any medications, make sure you only take them for your pain through this accident...not continue them because they make you feel good. Hope you are well soon.

It is fair game to take pain medication -especially if you have been hurt. It is true that the greek word transliterated as "farmakaion" means sorcery, but it also means pharmacy in Greek today.
There is nothing brewed up in kettles to cause it to boil and there are no incantations said or read over pharmatuticals!

The question you should ask yourself is where is your heart? Following Jesus and obeying the word is not about "doing" a bunch of things or following a bunch of rules and rituals; no one is perfect, we are all going to mess up. It's about the condition of your heart and your intentions. If by taking pain medication you hope to escape reality and get some kind of high from it, then yes that is wrong. If by taking it you hope to decrease your pain so that you may heal better (afterall pain causes stress...stress hormones can decrease healing) then it's appropriate.

No, sorcery is calling up things from the dead, concocting witchcraft potions and stuff like that. Medication is not against the bible.

It shouldn't be. I'm not christian but religions in general are not against medicine or technology. This is necessary and you have to take it.

In cases where you question stuff of this caliber remember you are human and making mistakes is what makes you human. Making bad decisions is acceptable unless repeating them again and again. You are thinking and try to do things well.

Get well soon

You are definitely believing in the wrong things, or you are really smart and got us into thinking you were dumb so you'd have fun with the answers.

If you are for real... then please get out of wherever it is you live and move into a city where there are real churches and real doctors who can give you real advise... No wonder you are still a virgin.
