In the last 12 months, there have been several marches for "rights" for illegal immigrants (yes the correct word is immigrant, look it up).
Why in the hell didn't the immigration department just kick butt and lock up all the illegals that came out in force? Why didn't the White House order the national guard or army in to keep control?

Why not have a march of uncaught thieves protesting the unfair arrests of thieves?
This crap makes me ashamed of my country!

If a murderer were to participate in the 'protest' do you REALLY think that it would be against the law to go into the 'protest' and arrest him
You see the problem?

Freedom of speech or not it doesn't matter. These people should be entitled to NO rights or benefits that are reserved for our citizens and those here legally. They should have been there arresting and deporting all of those criminals who are breaking the law to be here.

DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS

ENGLISH ONLY IN AMERICA

The INS took plenty of photos and video tape of the protesters. They are just waiting till the right time before going after them. Just as it was said in an earlier post, you can't arrest during a protest unless the individual is a danger or poses a threat to the public, the officers or themselves. Peaceful acts, peaceful acts. Danger - you get locked up.

Arrest them all, let their own countries sort them out.

because its freedom of speech, even if they r not citizens of the USA they still had some citizens in that marches, so if they started arresting people from there it would mean that millions of citizens would sue the USA goverment for ordering that and if those people would of won, they would put the iimigrantion department in bancruptcy, so then a whole bunch of people would start getting in that country... and plus, it would of cause a riot.. and ur dumb for thinking that iimigrants r thieves... first read REAL stuff, and then comment, if u been reading, then u most have been reading comments, not real facts.... learn son!

I personally don't understand it either. I would have blocked off all the streets and demanded they show me their i.d's. If they couldn't then I would arrest them for being here illegally if they could not prove they came here legally. Something is wrong with this picture. They say there are too many to send back, well Mexico had no problem sending them here, so send them back the same way. The illegals that is. I have no problem with anyone who is here legally.

The head-quarters of ICE (immigration custom enforcement) told all the local ICE officials to stand-down. While that sounds like a good way of doing it, you must realize that it would cause quite a bit of violence....

There's far more effective means to stopping the flow as Japan and the Swiss have demonstrated. Work place enforcement.

This make effectively end illegal immigration, depending on the results...I lean toward favorable results.

Were you born yesterday? The government doesn't care.

Hey, illegals line up every morning here to be picked up by local business everyday of the week.

The papers report it and the border patrol and city government, look the other way, wake up and smell your Starbucks....geez

It's a constitutional right to protest! You can't arrest people peacefully protesting!
That's like saying the government can spy on innocent Americans, erode the constitution, lie to go to war, blow up buildings in the US... Oh snap!

Afraid of more bad press for "hurting" the poor illegals. Republicans suppressing the poor again crap.

That's what I'm wondering. It's not racial profiling if you ask for everyones ID at the rally. Regardless of race. And the constitution only protects the CITIZENS of this country.

You assume that everyone protesting was illegal. There were many legal immigrants and non-immigrants and whole families marching.
