You are correct. God is not capable of simply forgiving someone, as you and I are; he must kill someone in order to do it. In the Old Testament, he required that animals die every single day so that he could forgive the Israelites. This worked just fine for thousands of years, and then one day God just wasn't satisfied. I guess the novelty of animal sacrifices wore off and he needed a human sacrifice. But not just ANY old human sacrifice, this one had to be special, so he sent his Holy Spirit to Earth to impregnate a teenage girl (does that count as sex with a minor?), then he arranged for the resulting offspring--his own son--to die. Only then was God able to forgive everyone.
Or was he? People are supposedly forgiven for every bad thing they ever did or will do, yet they are required to beg forgiveness, anyway, every time they do something bad. And if they do a lot of bad things, they get sent to eternal punishment...even though God forgave them.

just because the Jews fulfilled prophecy by orchestrating his death, does not make them praiseworthy. In fact, they were the only people on the earth wicked enough at that time that would kill the very person that they were waiting for. God knew they would kill Jesus, thus he was born a Jew. The Jews however didn't kill him, Jesus gave up his own life freely, clearly he or God could have prevented it. Jesus asked for this cup to be delivered from him, but knew that he must go through it willingly. So do we praise them for destroying god's son, I hardly think so. Jesus asked God to forgive them, because that was the right thing to do, but it does not mean that God did. And if they had not done anything wrong, then why was Jesus asking his father to forgive them?

No. Jesus said I have the power to lay down my life and I have the power to take it up again. This commandment I have received from my Father. Therefore, Jesus knew how and when He would die and also submitted to the pain and agony of a torturous crucifixion for us to enter the kingdom of heaven. It wasn't only the Jews, for Pontius Pilate had authority also to release Jesus. The roman soldier's did the physical torture and nailing to the cross, not the Jews. Bottom line: Every human being who has ever existed on this earth killed Jesus. Every one of us. For if we had not sinned since the beginning of human creation, then there would be no need for Jesus to be made a sacrifice for our sins.

The Jews did not arrange for Jesus to die. God set this plan in motion before the foundation of the world.

Jesus said that it was necessary for offenses to come. But He added, "woe to those by whom"...
Jesus warned the Jews that there would not be one stone left standing upon another. That warning came to pass in AD 70. In fact, some archeologists are now saying that the so-famous "wailing wall" is not a wall of the temple at all, but a wall of the Antonian fortress, which was next door. What irony if this turns out to be true!
Jesus also told them that there house would be left to them desolate. I guess I don't need to elaborate on this one!
The Jews cried out for Jesus' blood to be on their heads...and the heads of their children! I don't know, but that curse seems to have been following them ever since!
I would like to state that I am thrilled whenever I hear that a Jewish person has accepted Christ as his Savior. But I think it is time we finally understand...God said He would take the Kingdom from the Jews and give it to a people who were "better than they." Once and for all, to be Jewish is to be not Christian, and to be Christian is to be not Jewish. This is not anti-semitism. If I were to say that to be Hindu is to be not Jewish, or not Christian, I would not be accused of being anti-Hindu...truth is truth, and it is time we accepted the truth.
After all, if you read 2 Sam, you will see that the Jews tossed God off the throne of Israel long ago...perhaps that is why they didn't recognize their King when He came to them in the flesh?
We do the Jews a grave disservice when we endorse them in their Judaism. We should be trying to help them to understand Who the True Messiah is...that would be showing them real love.

If GOD had not arranged for Jesus to die for our sins, our sins wouldn't have been forgiven. You have to take your thinking up a few levels to catch on and see what's happening. God Bless you.

The Jews? yah right, it was a plan of God. A masterplan. The devil thought he had it under control when he "killed" Jesus. But no, Jesus was ressurected and became our eternal savior. In the Bible, Jesus kept telling his disciples, " to be ready for the end of his human life is near ". God knew it was going to happen, it was his great plan to save the world. Jews? No, it was all the Love of God.

It was ordained from before the beginning of time that Jesus should come at the proper time and place and die at the hands of his brothers. And God's word does not return to him empty.
Jesus in effect came across time for the salvation of humanity.

God the Father was in control of all circumstances. He used the human element of the Jews and the Roman government to bring about the physical death of His Son, but ultimately we were all responsible. The Jews certainly deserve no credit for their action, but they also deserve no more blame than any of us do.

The Jews didn't kill Jesus. We killed Jesus. He came to earth to die for all of us. That was God's plan, and that's what happened. It didn't happen because of the Jews calling for his crucifiction.
