Cat's have a profound ability to claim territory. She or He is just shifting into ownership of a new territory for the changing season. Don't be too hard on her. Your cat is a princess.

Most likely it is due to some stray cats outside of your home. Your cat can smell the outside cats, their hormones, their urine, etc. She's marking her territory and letting the other cats around know that this is her house. It is worse during spring and summer because the heat makes the smell outside even stronger, allowing it to seep into your house. During the cooler months the smell isn't as noticeable.
Try placing orange peels around the outside of your home, in flower gardens, shrubbery, etc. This will help to deter the other cats from spraying near your house.
Also, buy some Feliway diffusers from your vet. They release phermones into the air, which makes your cat a much happier kitty and less likely to mark. I think you can buy these at pet stores also.

Your shoes track smells in and out of the house from other animals. It's a cat thing.

maybe the heat brings the smell in her urine(ammonia) out more, and she doesn't like it? I'm guessing here.
