each have advantages

Rowing - uses more muscle mass that others so tends to give a higher intensity workout and a higher rate per unit of exercise

Swimming offers a good "low impact" option - again works most muscles and allows you to emphaside different muscles via a kickboard - a great part of an overall plan as it gives you body some rest from impact while keeping up cardio and toning

running - highest impact on body - mainly works lower body only unless you include some sprinting - if you are a natural runner its great fun and can include a lot of nice outdoor variety

Biking - you do need to work a lot harder to get the heart rate up compared to the others above and except for strenuous mountain biking mainly works lower body and can shorten your hamstrings - but trail biking etc can be great fun

dancing - can improve flexibility and when done with intensity great for cardio - plus it will give you killer calves!

It really depends on what your needs are. I find that running is great for weight loss and fitness. Swimming is a good all rounder it tones, good for fitness and has no impact, though I don't find I lose much weight doing it. Biking is really good for toning the legs, but I don't find I lode much weight doing this, plus I don't like sitting down while exercising ( I have heard spin class is pretty good though)

Swimming, definitely! The others are great cardio as well but with swimming, your body is extremely aware of it's oxygen intake due to fact that your face is under water. I believe that in itself forces your breathing to be as efficient as possible. I personally am unable to detach my mind from my breathing when swimming while with other types of cardio, I sometimes have to remind myself to breathe. After all, one of the main benefits of cardio exercise is to improve your body's utilization of oxygen.

Running because it's the most natural form. The human body was meant to run. The best looking bodies come from running.

Ladder climbing. Killer exercise after 2 times up and down.
Next is stairclimbing. REAL stairs!
Followed by The Step while wearing a weighted vest.
Don't use the weighted vest for stairclimbing or the ladder; too dangerous.

Tennis really gets me. Me and my mom play sometimes and we're so terribly awful that we're always having to sprint after the balls like madwomen. But seriously it gets your heartrate up and it's also a really fun way to get out of the gym and have a good time.

I say biking only because that's what I do for cardio, they're probably all equally the same though or not.
