i'm trying to find out if someone i locked up in chatamcounty jail how do i find them

Call the jail and ask if they are in there.

call the jail or go to a website for that county and put in the name of the person but if he went to jail for a long time he more than likely went to a state prison after sentencing and booking once a bed in the state came open but a good place to start is the county jail and tell them why you need to know and alot of people would love to help. you might also try the prosecuting district attorneys office, i am sure they can lead you in the right direction if they cant help you.
