You are walking down the street one night, and you hear a woman scream....you reach to get out your cell phone, but it's not there! What do you do now?

I like purple's answer. That's just what I would do- mostly. Except, I would actually show up. As I said I would. Courage is knowing fear but facing it anyway. I'm assuming the scream of which you speak is a blood-curdling, desperate cry for life. I'd say that's worth reacting fast to, instead of waiting for the police to show up too late.

Well the actual scenario will always dictate. Meaning the time of night, where it happens etc. What is she screaming? What type of scream is it? Blood curdling? If so I would yell HELP FIRE over and over while going towards where I heard her voice. Depending on what I see or hear will determine what I do next.

If I had a cell phone it is there ,but lets say I don't have a phone. Hollar we are coming , or I have a called the cops there on the way,Freeze Police, be loud and draw a crowd.

If you're a man, you should holler loudly "I"m coming. Hold on!" and then get to the nearest house or business and ask them to call the police emergency.
If you're a woman, you need to run for shelter and then call the police. If you see a car, you could try to flag it down for help as well.

I would try and find the lady that just screamed, because she would probably be the one that found my phone......I have scary pictures stored on my phone and anyone who sees them usually screams loudly.

Find out where it came from and what's going on. Find a weapon and knock some heads. Then look for the nearest phone.

You should always scream fire over help because people are interested in seeing a fire but afraid of getting hurt if someone screams rape or help.

I would find out the lady that screamed out and would solve her problem, if the case is more sensitive, i would call police.

As soon as you can call 911 from a pay phone or ask the next person you see to please call on their phone.
