Grindelwald, Switzerland. At the foot of the Alps Eiger Peak. A small charming ski village. That day it was snowing flakes the size of quarters and everyone was carrying skis or tobagans. Small Chalets, amazing shops, nice bars and restaurants. Of course, I still have to see the rest of the world but I won't forget that amazing little village.

It was soooo beautiful. The people were so knowleible about their surrroundings and history. The jerk chicken cooked on banana leaves under a hut made out of scrap wood was the best I have ever tasted...
While shopping in the town square, the people were pushy but they are so poor and they have a lot of competition,,,,,that they sounded just like they are; desperate for you to buy from them, then ...some want you to buy other stuff that you shouldn't!
I also loved Grand Caymen,,but that island is just the opposite,,,it had $$$$$$$$$$$$....and we didn't hear about any culture, history etc... and the people weren't as friendly,,,although,,,my husband and I talked about moving their one day,,but I couldn't move without moving my daughter and son...too. ($$$)

Panama ..... we went on a cruise that went to Panama and went through the first lock into Guten Lake. Then we took a train all the way across Panama to the west coast. A good portion of the trip was through the Panamanian jungles.
Costa Rica: went on a cruise that stopped there and we took a train ride into the jungle.
South Africa: went to South Africa about 8 years ago and took a tour to Cape Point, the southern tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

Kikoneni, Kenya - a small village off the coast of Mombasa. Went with a humanitarian group and were able to live in the village for a week. The organization is CHOICE (Center for Humanitarian Outreach and Intercultural Exchange). I'd go back again in a heartbeat. Here's their website. http://www.choicehumanitarian.org/
