Since religions are involved in every aspect of everybody's lives, I think we have a right to say what we think. But it seems as though religious people didn't want to read anything that goes against their views. Why is it so?

Of course, I'm talking about RESPECTFUL non-believers. I don't claim a right to insult you. But I do claim a right to say in THIS category that I don't agree and why. Don't you agree? (Please, state in your answer if you're a believer or not).

Mind you, by SHARE I don't mean just SAY WHAT THEY THINK. I mean also LISTEN TO US.

I have been wondering the same! Some guy harassed me for a few days to convince me!!! That was disrespectful and untolerant!

I am a Christian and I will openly discuss my beliefs with anyone that WANTS to listen. However, I will never try to force my religion down the throat of someone that does not want to listen! I am also open to listen to others religious beliefs as long as there is an understanding that my mind won't be changed and I do not intend to change their mind either. I am very interested in learning what others believe in, it helps me better understand my faith. Most people are unwilling to open their minds and hear anything contrary to their own way of thinking because they fear the unknown!

First of all, I believe in a general Creator, but I'm not a Christian. Second, I've learned from personal experience that most Christians don't want anything to do with non-Christians/non-believers because they think they're better than anyone else and that our Creator gave them the right to judge others. They've been brainwashed into believing whatever their parents/teachers/priests/who-all believe and they think that it's what's "right" and everything else is "wrong". I'm not saying that EVERY Christian thinks their s**t don't stink.... I'm saying MOST of the ones I've come across do.

I'm a Christian. I think what your question refers to is someone asking why "non-believers" would participate in the religion category. I've asked myself the same question in regards to non-believers who are antagonistic and offensive to anyone who believes in God, or a god, or follows any religion. If they don't believe in higher powers, or spiritual things, I guess maybe they are still searching to see if they are right or wrong. I don't know. I can only speak for myself and say that respectful discussion regarding religion and spiritual matters is a good thing. If both sides hurl insults at each other, it does no one any good. I don't shove my beliefs down anyone's throat. I try to answer questions respectfully according to what I believe.

Sure if you disagree then by all means say so.

I just think everyone here is getting a little fed up with those who are imature and saying mean, hateful, and derogatory things about other peoples religion.

I think it would be a different story if everyone was going about it differently.

I stay away from some topics because they are just plain stupid, like "where are the trolls" blah, blah, blah.

I choose not to even waste my time with topics like that. I also stay away from topics that try to discredit the Bible, because they are often posted by those who are uneducated about what the bible is really trying to say.

So anyways that is my 2 cents!

God Loves YOU
Heather :)

Saved to the bone!!!

I have never considered myself as 'religious', and I have had some interesting exchanges with non-believers. However, more and more, I have been encountering those who seek ignorant argumentation, and hide it by making what appear to be legitimate questions.

I enjoy sharing my views with people, and post many of them on my 360 so people can comment on them, but I would prefer to use my time more wisely than to give a thoughtful, researched answer to someone who has already placed their faith solidly elsewhere and only seeks to argue.

Your question seems sincere. That is why I am answering it. I am a firm Christian. Many times, I will avoid questions that are meant to trap me, stir me up, belittle me, etc. That is why I don't answer a lot of the questions here or even click on the links for them.
I agree with you that you don't have the right to desire to insult me but do have the right to disagree with me.
I would encourage you though, as you put forth your beliefs, to do so for higher purpose...for the good of others. It's what Jesus would do :)

Yep, I am a believer and I am not afraid to share with those that have a sincere interest but for those that just want to jest and make fun, I don't bother with as with those that just want to profane the name of God and all He stands for. I share all the time but only with those that want to know. Most may be intimidated or maybe they just don't know what they believe but if they are truly Christian and study the bible daily as Jesus would and did, they would not be so intimidated and they would know the truth.

Sure I believe in a higher power of some sort but certainly not in the teachings of these organized religions.

I also think that most people that do buy in to all of that malarchy are quite weak minded. The church - all of them - have been mind fuc ing people for so long it is pitiful.

I, personally, do not feel the need to argue. I believe in God and the Bible! I will leave the rest to the people that can quote Scriptures.
I believe what I believe and do not feel that I have to explain to anybody, why.
Just like you, we voice an opinion. That is it! We all have a right to do this. I can not convert you, you can not convert me! Let's just get along!

I would be happy to, and am also interested in hearing their views, which are often thought-provoking and intelligent.

I'm probably the worst Christian in the world though, so don't know if I'm a good example.
