One of her 3 dvd players even said that it could read dvd+r. I made a "data dvd" using Sonic-Record Now software. The pics are not in a folder on the dvd either.

the dvd needs to have JPEG campabilities. It can read recorded and rewritable discs all day long, but if it cant decode jpegs or kodak picture discs, it will not show anything.

See if Windows Explorer can read the disc and open the files. You may have just burnt a "coaster", we all do that now and then.
