I dont know. I will suggest that you check with your pharmacist. He can tell you what would potentially happen and what you could take instead.

Lexapro is for depression and anxiety. St John Wort is also for depression...did the doc prescribe these 2 at the same time? I dont think its wise to take them both...In the past for instance...if anyone takes Vicodin with another med...the vicodin purges from the other med and the results are not good for the patient...You wont get the effect of the other med when taken with vicodin...taking 2 anti-depressants ..in my opinion should not be done

That's a quesion you need to ask your doctor. I know for a fact that St John's wort interferes with blood coagulation and they ask you to stop it two weeks before you have an operation. St John's wart also causes gastritis or upset stomach.

Probably not, but I don't see why you would want that in the first place. St. John's Wort is a placebo. Didn't do anything for my depression. If your depression is axis I (medical) it does very little. The placebo effect for axis II (pscyhological) depression may have an effect. I don't know. All I know is it didn't work at all for me.
