Very safe, He will go to boot camp and after he goes to airman training at the boot camp facility. After wards he will go to an "A" school for his AO training, it is VERY IMPORTANT that he does good in "A" school the higher he scores the better the pick of duty assignments he gets. Best of LUCK, GO NAVY

One of the best jobs in the Navy. Works with aircraft on carriers or land loading ammo, bombs, rockets, and maintaining the weapons and their components. I was in aviation ordnance man.

I WAS an AO...for 11 years and I loved it. I'm not sure what you mean about being safe, but I never felt unsafe!
