I went on a trip to Walt Disney World with my child who was granted a wish, and we stayed at Give Kids The World Village. It changed the way I look at life and the world being around all of those sick children. It made me realize how short life really is and how important it is to give to others and to cherish them as if today was their last day here. I am so thankful I was given the opportunity to share a life long dream with so many children, and actually see their dreams come true right before my eyes. I will cherish the memory of those dreams for the rest of my life. I know my son and my family will too. There's no other place in the world like Walt Disney World!

I moved from north-central Florida to Akron, Ohio. Took a couple of years, but found my way back to God and got sober. Living here in Akron is awesome during the Founder's Day weekend celebration (early June). People from all over the world and all walks of life come for 3 days just to enjoy being sober and meeting others who do the same. It's the most asked-for duty by Akron police dept officers. Usually have roughly 10,000 people come into town. Usually 2500-3000 bikers. It's a very spiritual and fun time. Glad I've made it this far!

When I was serving my country (Vietnam Conflict Period) I had enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. I had the opportunity to be transferred to Seattle, WA. I was assigned to one (1) of three (3) 82 foot U.S. Coast Guard Patrol boats that had just been built. My vessel was named "POINT NOWELL" WPB-82363, that was scheduled to be stationed at its new homeport being Port Isabell, (Padre Island) Texas. As the three vessels were commissioned and stocked with provissions, we would be traveling in the same direction and route. Mainly we were going down from the west coast and then through the Panama Canal, to the south and east coasts destiations of the United States. Due to the small size of the vessels, we could only stay out to sea for a 3 - 4 day amount of time and had to enter different ports of call to purchase and take on the needed fuel and water. My life experience had changed that day by going through the Panama Canal locks systems. This was a once in a life time experience, for me, and to think it was paid for compliments of and by the U.S. Government. The efficiency of the personnel that operated the locks was totally the ultimate experience in itself. The country of Panama was absolutely beautiful along with its rich green grass and colorful scenery. To think that I was traveling through the history of the canal and further, to think of the personnel who had partaken into it construction. It had taken thousands of personal to complete this masterpiece. You have to give homage to the ones who lived and died in its conception of the first shovelful to the very last gallon of water in the lock. This had been a turning point in my life as far as experiencing and partaking in historic events that happen way before I was even born.
